So Izekiel is Artemis, one of the four generals.
This is shocking, but I don’t really have unpleasant feelings towards her.
It’s not like she ever harmed me directly, so that’s most likely the biggest reason.
Also, I can empathize with her circumstances.
She’s troubled by the bad reputation brought about by her past failures, and has to hide who she is. This sort of backwards facing past is something I experienced many times after going to Minerva. The fear of being found out, and imagining people around me suddenly turning into devils was very tough.
“Saintess, why are you revealing your identity to us? We just made a deal. If you did not harm us, I would take that secret to the grave.”
“But you’re going to punish him, right?”
“…”
“If I just stand and watch, he is going to lose his prince position without a doubt. If that happens, he might end up in deep despair and end his own life.”
I think it’s more likely that someone ends it for him. This guy has a dark history of harming a lot of people.
Judging by our last conversation too, this guy is shoulder deep in the darkness of royalty.
If he loses the right to become king as the first prince, everything he’s done will come crashing down on him. His position was built on political power, so if you remove that, it will all come crashing down.
Izekiel is basically saying that in a roundabout way.
“He chose that life. You don’t need to support him to the point of throwing yours away.”
“Loyd, right? You’re nice, to say that to an enemy.”
“I’m not nice, I’m just saying how I feel.”
“Ufufu, that’s what all nice people say.”
A gentle smile forms on her face, and she approaches Ghise to cast healing magic on his face.
In a moment, his blood-covered face returns to normal.
She lovingly caresses it, and gently whispers.
“Ghise, no matter what artifice was behind your confession, when you gave me this ring, I was very happy. I had never received something from a person before.”
She says while touching the shining ring on the fourth finger of her left hand.
A tear runs down her beautiful face, and she wipes it with her sleeve, hiding her face.
Time passes quietly for a bit, as she thinks about the past.
After the silence, she raises her head again.
Her face is expressionless, with no joy, anger, sadness, or amusement.
Her pupils are fully dilated, and her eyes are sharp like a snake’s.
“Princess, let me tell you the real reason why I revealed myself.”
“…I’m listening.”
“If I am a demon, can I take his sins and carry them all on my back. There is no way someone as wise as him could appoint a demon to be a saintess. If I am the cause of that, everyone will understand.”
“Are you…!?”
“Fufufufufufu…! If I am to be executed anyway, I might as well guide you with me to hell in my final moments.”
Says Izekiel, as she unleashes the immense magic energy she has been hiding in her body.
The ominous dark magic energy rises high like a flaming pillar that envelops the entire castle, turning the beautiful white Roland castle into a sinister dark castle.
The earth trembles like it’s rippling, and nearby plants decay.
Izekiel’s face is covered in darkness, and her mouth shines ominously with a creepy light.
“W-w-w-w-wha!? What is this huge magic energy!?”
Iris is very shaken, and holds onto Sephilia with a scared expression.
Sephilia responds by holding her tightly.
I look as Izekiel slowly floats up, and she looks down at us.
“Mental Embodiment.”
She declares, and zombies rise from the ground, surrounding us. There are probably hundreds of them.
Mental Embodiment is something that Undine once used. A power to materialize what doesn’t exist.
But to extend its effect so widely…
From what I can tell, she’s at least as strong as Queen Undine.
