An exclusive mage who broke up with his alchemist childhood friend, wants to lead a slow life in a remote town – Chapter 111 – Prank

It’s been a week since that fight.

Ghise has been punished for the commotion by being confined underground. A lot of wrongdoings have been brought to light in the process, and his right of succession has been stripped from him.

He’s gone from first prince to a serious criminal charged with subversion of the kingdom. He’s in his cell right now, still raising resentful voices.

Will that trash ever change?

Rumors say that my old friend Ruby has escaped from prison, and is living somewhere with the terrorist Black Raven.

If even someone I know is like that, I seriously doubt Ghise will ever change.

Right now, I’m on the balcony looking at the starry sky to soothe my emotional heart.

“Mister Loyd.”

I hear a female voice behind me, and turn around to find Sephilia.

This is her room, where I’m also staying for tonight.

It’s supposed to be for safety reasons, but I’m not sure about that.

She’s wearing an alluring orange negligee.

I’m going to be sleeping in the same bed as her.

Is this really to keep her safe? Is she really someone who needs someone to watch over her?

Well, nothing has happened yet. She’s a princess, so surely it would be very bad if I became overcome with passion.

“May I stargaze with you?”

“Yes. And this is your room, so make yourself at home.”

“Mister Loyd, don’t tease me like that.”

She says with a wry smile.

She puts her hands on the railing and looks up. Her face both dignified and pure looks beautiful.

“It’s beautiful.”

“It is.”

Sephilia is more beautiful.

I’m too embarrassed to say something so affected, so I just silently nod.

“Do you know the name of that star?”

She asks while pointing.

“No, I don’t know a lot about stars. Do you?”

“In Roland, it’s called Iris.”

“Eh, having the same name as a star is so fancy.”

“And if you tell her this, she will immediately look embarrassed.”

I get it. Even if it’s in a good way, it’s a little embarrassing to be seen the same way as a jewel.

“You really like Iris, don’t you, Sephilia?”

“Yes. She is my dearest friend.”

“I’m sure she would be happy to hear that.”

Sephilia smiles like a young girl when she hears that.

Her smile is bright, and this is her most beautiful expression from what I’ve seen, so I get embarrassed and look away.

“Mister Loyd.”

She calls my name again.

“Hm?”

I turn to her, and she comes closer, as her lips lightly touch my right cheek.

I’m taken aback. She then looks a little embarrassed, and steps back.

She faces up to stare at me, and I see my surprised face in her jade eyes.

“Mister Loyd, that was… Just a prank.”

“You can play pranks too?”

“I’m sure it’s just the night getting me excited.”

The night? That sounds nostalgic. I remember Iris saying something like that when we first met.

And as those memories cross my mind, the night slowly passes.
