I’m going to Nero’s cafe with Iris and Till.
It’s a fancy place that’s suited for female customers, and when you add the fact that it’s lunchtime, there’s a line of people outside.
“Is that a line…!?”
Asks Iris with an exclamation mark over her head.
“It is strange. There are usually no customers around.”
Till agrees with her.
“Let’s just join the line.”
“Yes.”
We agree with Iris.
Nero’s place was never this prosperous. Even during lunchtime, it used to be completely empty.
We can’t help but be curious about how it is right now. How did he get all these customers?
It takes about an hour for us to go in, and we’re greeted by a woman wearing a maid outfit.
That’s when we realize that there are a lot of maids inside. The decor changed a lot too, and the vibe of a hidden cafe is completely gone. Now it’s noisy, and there are maids minding customers all over.
“W-what is this?”
“There are so many maids.”
“Welcome home master. Nyan nyan☆.”
Says a maid wearing cat ears and paw pad gloves, while crouching and looking up at us.
“Eh, hum, master?”
“Geez, don’t you remember me, master? Hmph hmph!”
No, really, who are you? How else am I supposed to react to someone calling me master all of a sudden? Iris and Till are also taken aback by this maid treating us customers with a strange tone.
“Hum, is this some kind of special service of this cafe?”
“Correct! I am an angel of love, sent down from the heavens to serve you, master. Nyan!”
“I-I see. Anyway, the three of us want to have lunch…”
Says Iris.
“Three? Come this way.”
We are taken to a table, where I sit on one side, and Iris and Till on the other.
“Well, how should I put this? It sure feels like the whole mood in here has changed.”
“It looked exactly the same as before when I visited a week ago. What happened? Any ideas, Till?”
“I’m sorry, but I am too busy taking in all this to think about it that far.”
Even Till is baffled.
“Let’s just order. You only have an hour left, right Iris?”
I open the menu, and see the names are different too.
Moe moe rice omelet, love♡filled fresh blood pasta, cute curry rice.
“““…”””
Now now, it’s important to make an impact with the names of your dishes.
“By the way Mister Loyd, what does tsundere version mean?”
Iris asks while pointing to something next to the moe moe rice omelet. It says you can change it to the tsundere version for one extra copper coin.
Normally this would mean the serving is extra big, but apparently that’s not the case here.
I know what tsundere means, but I don’t know if I should tell Iris. But since she asked, I think I should just tell it to her straight.
“Ah, it’s when a girl says things like ‘it’s not like I did it for you or anything!’. Like that Noir girl we met in the Luminous farm.”
“So Noir will drop by?”
“No, that’s not what I mean. It’s hard to explain. Basically, I imagine that an employee will change the way she speaks and talk like Noir.”
“Eh, that sounds interesting. Till, I’m having that.”
“Lady, I would not recommend a service where they make money by just changing their tone. You should pay for more substantial things.”
“Now now, Till. This is Nero’s place, so let’s not be so rigid. If we order it, we will know his intentions when he made this service.”
Iris has a point, so Till backs down.
“Then let’s order already. Excuse me, three of these moe moe rice omelets, one tsundere flavored please.”
I raise my hand and order.
“Very well, master. I will bring them to you soon.”
“Fufufu, I can’t wait.”
Iris is all smiles.
And ten minutes later, the maid returns.
“Thank you for waiting, master. Here is an angelic moe moe rice omelet filled with this angel’s love.”
She places omelets with heart symbols drawn on them in front of me and Till.
I was going to wait for Iris to get hers too, but she motions for us to eat.
I guess I will then. I grab a spoon, but then the maid speaks to me.
“By the way master, do you know the spell to make an omelet extra delicious?”
A spell to make things delicious?
There’s magic to make food taste better?… I guess olive oil would be one.
“Master, please make a heart with your hands like me.”
“Ah?”
“Like this, master♪.”
I don’t really get it, but I do as she says.
And then she speaks with a soft voice.
“Get tasty, moe moe kyun.”
She chants.
“Now repeat after me, master.”
“Y-yes. Get tasty get tasty…”
What am I doing?
Till is made to do the same thing. She’s actually a maid, and follows instructions without hesitation, but her eyes look completely dead.
She’s probably thinking the same as me.
And then, Iris’ rice omelet arrives.
“Ah, here’s mine. Thank you…”
“Here’s yours.”
The maid roughly throws the rice omelet in front of Iris. The maid’s face has no friendliness to it, and she looks annoyed.
She grabs a bottle of ketchup with her right hand, opens it, and then sprays a lot of it on the rice omelet.
Iris is dumbfounded by the ketchup mountain in front of her.
“Hmph.”
The maid snorts, and goes back to the kitchen.
