Nero got mad and left, but it’s not like that’s unreasonable. He was just looking out for Iris, and I screwed it up by speaking.
But I don’t regret it, because Iris really wants to go save Sephilia.
As long as she feels that way, I’ll continue to support her.
Anyway, I’m definitely carrying a big load now.
Iris is by no means strong right now, and she definitely doesn’t have the power to face an alraune queen.
I have to make sure I take care of her since I said I’d take her with me. At the very least, I need to protect her life. That’s my responsibility.
As for Mars and Lela, I think I can say they’re responsible for themselves.
“Hey hey hey! What heartless things are you thinking, Loyd!? Protect us too!”
“I don’t even know if I’ll win, so if we’re thinking about priorities, you two definitely take a backseat.”
“W-what a terrible thing to say with a straight face… Hmph, it’s not like I can’t protect myself! I’ll have you know, I was a †forest guardian† where I came from, and I did a magnificent job chasing away any intruder! I’m not as good as you with magic, but my skills with the bow are second to none.”
That sounds reliable.
She’s becoming a joke character, but she has way more experience as an adventurer than me. I’m sure I’ll be under her care a lot from now on too.
“By the way sensei, we should talk to Till about this too.”
“Mars is right. Till is always with Iris, so it will be hard to leave without getting her OK.”
Mars and Lela have a point. Nero is important too, but Till is definitely the most important.
She’s Iris’ number one caretaker, and different from someone who retired, like Nero.
Then Iris takes one step forward, and looks at me with a serious expression.
“I will convince Till. This is about me being selfish, so I will do it instead of bothering you all.”
“We can’t let you do that. I don’t want you to carry all the responsibility.”
“I agree with Mars. Let’s all go there!”
“Mars, Lela…! T-thank you so much!”
Says Iris with emotional tears in her eyes, and Lela takes her hands to reassure her.
Everyone feels the same way about wanting to save Sephilia.
“All right! Mars, Lela, Iris! Let’s go convince Till!”
“Yes! Let’s go buy an accessory Till will like!”
Says Lela with a smile, and Mars smiles awkwardly.
“You can’t buy Till with objects.”
“Yes. Till is very stingy and only buys what is absolutely necessary.”
“Sounds more sensible than stingy.”
“Same thing. She said the electric mouse mask I bought the other day was a waste of money.”
“I’m more curious about why you would want to buy that, but yes, I don’t think we can buy her like that.”
“We just have to attack with feelings!”
“Till! Increase my allowance!”
“If you go at it like that, this will fail for sure.”
“““Yes!!”””
Good grief, I think we’re only just getting started.
