After taking out the leader of Catastrophe, I make my way back to the wagon.
There, I find Iris sad over the death of the driver by the Three Eyed Raging Demon’s attack.
It’s terrible that someone unrelated got involved in our fight, so I use master rank magic to revive the driver and the horses.
“W-wow!? You brought the dead back to life!”
“You really are like a god, Loyd!”
All three are impressed to see someone they thought was dead return to life.
Meanwhile, I’m all out of magic energy, so I say almost nothing and return to the wagon.
(Ahh… I was pretty flustered when we were attacked, but it all worked out in the end.)
I let out a deep breath, and Iris enters the wagon.
“Mister Loyd, I’m really sorry for panicking earlier.”
“Don’t worry about it. Anyone would react like that if they’re not used to this.”
“This might be a naive question, but how did you get used to it?”
“Me? I guess in Area Zero. Monsters are constantly attacking there, so you have to be ready anytime.”
“Area Zero…” You really are incredible.”
Says Iris with a warm smile. Her pure smile with nothing nefarious behind it makes my heart feel at ease.
“Iris, their boss has been dealt with, but the others might still attack like that again. We need to be careful and ready to move anytime.”
“Understood.”
Iris nods, and moves close and puts my head on her lap.
“Iris?”
“You look very tired after that last fight, so I thought I would soothe you with my lap as a pillow.”
Her lap is very soft and warm, and smells very nice.
She sees how receptive I am to it, and starts patting my head.
I can feel the exhaustion being blown away.
A saintess’ lap isn’t a bad reward for a fight. And this is how I get the chance to fool around with Iris to our heart’s content.
