I Summoned the Devil to Grant Me a Wish, but I Married Her Instead Since She Was Adorable ~My New Devil Wife~ – Gaiden – 22/11 – Good couple’s day

Author’s note: This chapter is separate from the main story, and ignores chronology.

“Good couple’s day?”

Theo asked back to an old lady in Nemophila’s shopping district, as the sun was setting.

“I didn’t know a day like that even existed!”

“Not only does it exist, but it’s today.”

“Really?”

That day, Theo, Helvi, Xena, and Celia accepted a random quest in the mercenary guild and went to the forest to train, as they always did.

They went to the guild together to report they had completed the quest, but went their own separate ways after leaving.

Theo was going to buy ingredients to make dinner and return home, but…

“Fufu. You got married recently didn’t you? To that beautiful lady?”

“Y-yes, I did.”

“Then how about you take the opportunity to buy her something? A present.”

“Present…”

“My husband would never think of that. Don’t turn into him!”

“Hahaha…”

Theo left after hearing the old lady complain a little.

He started thinking as he walked through the shopping district.

He had no idea ‘good couple’s day’ even existed, but thought he should buy something for Helvi, to thank her for all she did for him.

However… Theo could not think of anything.

(Uu… What do I do…)

Theo struggled to think of something as he continued walking.

Meanwhile, Helvi…

“What? Good couple’s day?”

Helvi heard about this day from Xena and Celia as they talked to each other after leaving the guild.

“You didn’t know about it? It’s today!”

“Hm, so there is a day like that…”

Helvi had been alive for over ten thousand years, but there was still a lot she did not know. Not to mention that up until that point, she had no interest in special days humans came up with.

Furthermore, unless it was something she was interested in, she would not know, and not care to learn.

However, this ‘good couple’s day’ was a different story.

To a newlywed like Helvi, this was a very important day.

“What do you do on this day?”

“We’re not married so we don’t really know… But I guess it’s a day where you show appreciation for each other.”

“…So nothing specific?”

“I don’t think so.”

“What a vague day…”

Helvi sighed, and Xena and Celia awkwardly smiled.

“Well, a lot of people don’t do anything, so it’s not like you have to either.”

“I’m sure Theo doesn’t know about it either. He might even get too concerned about it if you tell him.”

“Hm, that is true…”

That was the end of it.

Celia was right. If she did tell Theo, he might feel bad for not knowing about this day, so Helvi opted not to tell him.

But Theo did know, and he was racking his brain as he walked through the shopping district.

That night, Theo and Helvi finished their dinner, and talked while sitting on the sofa.

At some point, Helvi became a little confused as she saw Theo fidgeting.

Apparently there was something on his mind, as he kept peeking at the bag he usually carried.

“Is something wrong Theo? You are acting strange.”

“Ah, s-sorry. Hum… Helvi, do you know about good couple’s day?”

“…!”

Helvi was at a loss for words, as she did not expect Theo to bring it up.

“I only learned about it today, from someone in the shopping district…”

“I-I see. I also heard about it from Xena and Celia.”

“Ah, you did!? Then, hum…!”

Theo got up from the sofa, grabbed his bag, and took out a box.

“H-here…! I don’t know if you’ll like it, but it’s a present!”

“P-present… Can I open it?”

“O-of course!”

Helvi opened the box, while still being unable to shake off her surprise, and saw small earrings inside it.

They were black and heart-shaped, and were beautiful.

“I-I thought it’d be nice if the hearts were red, but you always wear black, so I thought those would look better…!”

Rambled Theo, but he got his point across. He really did seriously think about which ones would suit her better.

“W-what do you think…?”

“…Ah, they are incredible, Theo. Thank you so much.”

Said Helvi with a very happy smile on her face.

Theo smiled back, as his face turned red.

“Can I put them on?”

“Y-yes! Go ahead!”

Helvi carefully took the rings out of their box, and put them on both ears.

“What do you think?”

“It looks great! Beautiful!”

“Fufu, thank you Theo.”

They said as they smiled.

“But I’m sorry Theo. I did not buy a present.”

“N-no, you’re always taking care of me, so you don’t have to…!”

“But I will not be happy with that, so…”

Helvi snapped her fingers… And teleported them to their bed.

Theo was lying down while facing upwards, and Helvi crawled on top of him.

“Eh…?”

“How about I give you… A more lovely night than usual?”

Helvi whispered into Theo’s ear as she undressed herself.

She put her long silver hair behind her ears, showing the black earrings.

Theo gulped… And whispered as his face turned red.

“T-thank you very much Helvi…”
