I was reincarnated on an island where the strongest species live, so I will enjoy a peaceful life on this island – Chapter 147 – Daily life

I’m human, so my lifespan isn’t that long. But just as I’m thinking that, I remember that Zephir is human too.

Mages use their magic energy to maintain their looks, but apparently it increases lifespan too.

With that in mind, will I live as long as a regular human?

Oh, whatever. I’m not going to know no matter how much I think about it.

“Well then, you next, Mister Arc.”

“Eh!?”

Arc is thrown for a loop when Zephir turns the conversation to him.

“We talked, so you have to talk too, Arc.”

“H-hum…”

“Who is it, Ceres or Erie?”

“Mister Arata, bigamy is accepted in the continent. So…”

“I see…”

We both grin.

“Y-you two! I don’t have those foul feelings!”

““Eh…””

“What’s with those faces!? I mean…”

“Now now, drink this.”

I take out alcohol from my Storage Magic, and give a small cup to Arc.

Then I pour some for me and Zephir while I’m at it.

“Ahh… That’s the stuff.”

Says Arc all of a sudden.

His face is bright red. Did he get drunk on one cup?

“Oh? Looks like someone’s feeling good.”

“Yes, we can listen if you want to speak.”

“Please listen!”

He says before gulping the rest and starting to talk again.

Apparently those two don’t really care about him being a guy, and even change in front of him.

I guess it made sense when they were in the middle of harsh travels, but lately we’ve been having peaceful days without any threat of monsters.

That’s why he was trying to be conscious of them as girls, but they don’t really seem to care.

“Zephir, this…”

“Shh! This is just getting interesting!”

“Why do you walk around in your underwear after a bath!? Why do you keep slipping into my bed when you’re sleepy!? Even I might misunderstand that sort of thing!”

He says while pointing his cup at me, so I pour him more.

He gulps the whole thing, and his eyes glaze.

“Erie is cute. She’s all tsuntsun, but she cares about us…”

““Yes yes.””

“When you’re so unguarded around me, I…”

He stops talking like a switch turned off.

He didn’t pass out, fall asleep, or even stop moving. He’s just not talking.

Right at the good part too…

“We can’t just leave him like this. Should we get out?”

“Yes.”

We call out to Arc, and have him dry himself with a towel he brought.

He moves like you’d expect a drunk person to move, but manages to dress himself.

“Is it time to go back?”

“Yes. And suffice to say, we should keep this discussion to ourselves.”

“Of course.”

We have a slightly bad look on our faces, and help Arc get home.

And once we do get home, we see snow I don’t remember seeing falling. Edinburgh is playing with Snow in the middle of it, apparently making a snowman.

Snow makes a small ball, Edinburgh a big one, and they put them together.

“They really do look like an older and younger sister.”

“Yes.”

Zephir’s eyes look soft as he looks on.

“Daddy!”

“Yes, it is.”

They stop, and walk over with happy expressions.

I’m really happy about how much she loves me.

“Were you two playing together?”

“Yes! With Edi!”

“I see.”

Once I reach towards her, she immediately raises her arms. And when I pick her up, she lets out a happy sound.

“Thank you Edinburgh.”

“Dad, I told you to call me Edi.”

“Well…”

After meeting Wil again, she called her Edi, so now she wants us all to call her that…

The thing is, that Edinburgh has this sense of presence to her that makes it hard to be that casual.

But of course, kids adapt quickly, and Snow has no problem with that.

“Ah, it’s not done yet!”

Snow taps me to put her down, and I do that.

“Edi, let’s continue!”

“Yes.”

Snow pulls Edinburgh along as she runs towards the unfinished snowman.

“I have never seen Miss Edinburgh looking so calm.”

“She lost her memory, but are you fine with this, Zephir?”

“Yes, that is what she wants.”

Zephir doesn’t hesitate, probably because he’s been with her all this time.

So is this her first time living peacefully in her over thousand years of life?

“If she really wants her memory back, she will manage it on her own.”

“Really?”

“Yes.”

“I only know a little about her from before we met, but she looks very calm and happy now.”

“I see.”

I never met her before she lost her memory.

I guess I’m a little skewed because I don’t understand her, but if this is what she, as she is now, wants, we should respect that.

I look at them as they make the snowman.

They use a wooden bucket as a hat, branches as arms, and keep talking as they make it.

It does look very peaceful in there, and fun.

“I guess when you look at that, we really shouldn’t force her to get her memories back.”
