I was reincarnated on an island where the strongest species live, so I will enjoy a peaceful life on this island – Chapter 152.2 – Vampire and dinner

The sky is being painted red by the time we get home, and Reina starts preparing dinner right away.

There’s nothing I can do to help, so I go to the living room, where Katima and Snow are sleeping next to each other, tired from playing so much.

They look pretty clean considering how much they played, so I’m assuming they took a bath too.

“Snow looks so happy.”

She looks adorable, lying on the carpet with her arms extended and her belly out… And a little funny.

Kids sleep in weird poses anyway, but if I had a smartphone, I’d probably be taking a picture right now.

Katima is sleeping next to her, as if protecting her. They look like good sisters.

“It looks like Katima will be staying here tonight.”

We have a spare room, and Snow will be happy, so that’s not an issue. Snow is always dragging her around, but that’s because she really likes Katima. She’s always happy when she comes here to play.

“Come to think of it, do alfar and elves get along?”

I picture them being on bad terms, because they worship different beings.

There’s also this image from fantasy of elves and dark elves being enemies, so I think that might be influencing my views.

“Well, they’re technically alfar, not dark elves…”

I also remember Miss Sheryl saying that she left Yggdrasil because the southern great spirits were too serious. So it’s not like they hate each other, but it might be best not to talk about it.

And since Mister Guen and Mister Giarth were raised by her, I should be a little cautious about bringing them up too.

“So cute.”

Says Reina when she brings the food.

These two don’t show any signs that they’ll wake up soon.

“What should we do?”

“We can let them sleep, and I’ll get them something to eat when they wake up.”

“Sure.”

We’re having bear meat stew, from the one I hunted today.

I thought wild game would have a stronger smell, but I don’t know if it was prepared beforehand or what, but I don’t smell anything.

The herbs and vegetables also bring out the appetite.

When I try the bear meat, it’s softer than I expected. It’s my first time having it, but my impression that it would be tougher and harder to eat was wrong.

“How is it? I let it stew for a long time, so it should be soft.”

“Yes, it’s really good!”

“Great.”

The thick stew really hits the spot, so I can’t stop my spoon. But then Reina brings out slightly browned toast.

“Isn’t that against the rules?”

The hard toast softens in the stew, and soaks in its flavor. I try it with the vegetables, and its flavor spreads in my mouth more than I expected.

“Tasty…”

“Fufu…”

I almost yell like Elga, but hold it back. And Reina is looking at me with a smile, happy about my review.

This is nice…

This casual lifestyle is really lovely.

I hope it goes on like this, but just as I’m thinking that, I notice two vampires looking through the window.

“Hey, I’m here to eat. Something sweet would be nice.”

“Reina, can you get mother something to eat? And I would appreciate something for me too.”

They keep looking without going around and walking through the entrance.

I get why. Watching Reina be embarrassed because she knows they were watching the whole time is like a meal for the true ancestral vampire Wilhelmina Vermilion Worheim.

“Kekeke, thanks for the tasty meal.”

Says Wil with an evil smile, before coming in through the window and approaching me like that’s normal.

“Time to eat, Arata. Put out your arm.”

“Can you come back later?”

“You can just eat normally, can’t you? Then eat up.”

Says Reina while pouring stew onto a plate and giving it to Wil.

It looks like she made enough for ten people, like she’s anticipating someone coming here suddenly.

And stew is good the next day too, so it’s great how she considers everything…

I watch her as she goes back to the kitchen, with respect in my eyes.

“Hey Arata, you’ve really been drowning in those lewd thoughts lately.”

“What do you mean?”

“You’re staring at Reina’s butt while she’s wearing that apron. I get it, it’s erotic how her skirt flutters.”

“Her back, her back.”

I don’t want to react too much, or I’ll make it worse, so I respond with a plain tone.

I’m used to this.

Yes, there is something lewd to Reina’s back when she’s wearing an apron, but that’s not all that was on my mind.

“Even I can tell he was looking at Reina with kind eyes. But fine, let’s not slight mother too much.”

Says Edinburgh while climbing through the window too. Wil is clearly a bad influence.

She walked through the door just fine until recently… Then there’s a knock on the door.

“Ah, I have to go.”

““He ran.””

I head to the entrance, leaving the vampire girls behind me.

The door is usually unlocked, so Luna and Tiltue can drop by when they want, but some people are polite like this.

And just as I thought, when I open the door, I see Zephir with a troubled expression.

“Good evening Mister Arata, is Miss Edinburgh here?”

“Yes, she came here to eat with Wil. How about you join us?”

Zephir is hesitant, but says yes.

It’s important to be nice to your neighbors. Especially since Reina’s food is so good on this island, that I feel it’s unfair to keep it to ourselves.

“Miss Edinburgh, you can’t trouble Mister Arata so much.”

“Mu, Zephir? Didn’t you come here to eat too?”

“I have permission from one of the owners of this house.”

“Mu…”

Zephir immediately starts lecturing Edinburgh. Like a grandfather teaching his granddaughter.

Meanwhile, Wil is eating stew, not bothered by anything around her.

She’s also drinking red wine that I don’t know where she got, having a fancy dinner on her own.

“Hnnn?”

I guess it got a bit noisy with all the people here, and Snow starts fidgeting. She sits up, rubs her eyes, and sniffs…

“Dinner!”

“Ugoh!?”

“Ah, sorry Katima.”

She says after suddenly getting up and stepping on Katima.

It looks painful, but Katima looks a little happy while rubbing her stomach.

“Fu, fufufu…”

Edinburgh laughs, as this all seems like a skit, prompting everyone to laugh too.

“…?”

It looks like Snow doesn’t understand why people are laughing.

“Come here, Snow.”

“Yes!”

I reach out to her, and she jumps into my arms.

I’m done with my food, so Reina gets Snow a plate and puts it in front of us.

“Tasty!”

Her voice softens the mood around us again. I’m really glad this girl is here.

Wait since when was Edinburgh a vampire? Did I miss something I thought she was a elf?
