I was reincarnated on an island where the strongest species live, so I will enjoy a peaceful life on this island – Chapter 160 – Parents

Apparently Elga already explained what’s going on, so everyone here already has at least somewhat of a grasp on the situation.

I then tell them what Wil told me about Ratatoskr, and Reina is incredibly angry.

“So it’s that thing’s fault Snow…”

She looks as stern as when she’s cooking.

At first Tiltue and Katima also look angry, but then they look at me teary-eyed like they’re asking for help.

“Wil is taking care of Ratatoskr, so we need to be here so Snow won’t be lonely when she comes back.”

“Yes. I wonder if Snow is crying…”

“It’s all right! Snow is stronger than she looks!”

“Yes… Miss Snow is a great spirit, and she’s with other great spirits too.”

Say Tiltue and Katima to console Reina.

“Thank you.”

And Reina smiles, because she knows what they’re doing.

“Come to think of it, is it okay for a high alfar to come to the village of the high elves?”

“Well… It doesn’t really feel good, but Miss Snow is more important.”

“I see.”

That said, it doesn’t sound like her issue is with the great spirits. I think she just feels awkward about the high elves.

I don’t think it’s really discomfort either, it’s more like meeting relatives you’ve never seen, I guess.

And then, Brynhildr comes back with high elves.

“Father, the great spirits should be almost… Why are they here?”

““Ah…””

Both Katima and Tiltue react to that, but I feel like Brynhildr is only glaring at Tiltue. It doesn’t look like she minds Katima all that much.

Their relationship isn’t good, but the other high elves just look kind of awkward.

As for Tiltue…

She stole Yggdrasil nectar before, so I’m guessing she didn’t want them to find her.

And sure enough, the high elves are mostly looking at her, not Katima.

“I-I’m here because of Snow! If you want to complain, do it already!”

“Tiltue, isn’t there something you should say?”

“Sorry for taking Yggdrasil nectar.”

It flows out of her mouth naturally after I prompt it.

The way she suddenly shifted throws off Brynhildr too, who just looks troubled because she doesn’t feel like being angry anymore.

The other high elves look the same.

They don’t want to press someone who just apologized, so Brynhildr sighs a little, and turns to Katima.

“And a high alfar too?”

“Yes. Miss Snow is very important to Katima.”

“…I didn’t think we would mingle again… But it seems this is the way it is. Fine. You may wait here with father.”

“Thank you.”

Katima’s words are stiff, like when we first met.

Conversely, Brynhildr’s voice has more heat to it, so there’s a definite gap between them.

I think they’re both good people, so I wish they’d get along, but… I’m sure there’s a lot to it.

It doesn’t have to be now, but I wish we can all have a drink together.

“And there…”

She looks at Edinburgh for a moment.

She’s seen her before, but I guess she was too flustered because of the issues with Yggdrasil.

“Don’t mind me, I’m just here to accompany Reina.”

Brynhildr is about to say something, but stops. I think she figured it’s not the time.

“So, do you think Snow will be here soon?”

“Ah, excuse me. Yes, Yggdrasil has regained quite a bit of magic energy, so it won’t take long…”

She’s interrupted by intense magic energy that covers this area. It came from Yggdrasil, which is surrounded by divine looking golden particles and shining.

“Beautiful…”

“Yes, incredible.”

Reina whispers, drawn to it, and I agree.

Yggdrasil’s shine spreads in this forest that was only illuminated by the stars in the sky. It’s otherworldly beautiful, and divine.

The light then concentrates in Yggdrasil.

“Let’s go!”

Says Brynhildr, and all the high elves run.

We follow them to Yggdrasil, and see four balls of light.

One of them is slowly taking form…

“Snow!”

Reina jumps forward, running straight for Snow.

“Ah… Thank goodness… I’m so glad you’re okay!”

“Mommy?”

“Yes. I’m sorry for leaving you alone.”

“Hn…”

It looks like Snow is still in a trance, but she feels the warmth and hugs Reina back.

I go to them, and hug both.

“I’m glad you’re okay…”

“Daddy…”

After a while, Snow falls asleep.

Her breathing is stable, so it looks like she’s just tired.

When I see her holding Reina like a koala like she always does, I breathe a sigh of relief.

“We were worried too you know…”

“Katima’s just happy Miss Snow is all right.”

“Mu, me too!”

“Now now. Anyway, the problem is solved, for now anyway.”

I hear the three girls say that a little far away. They were all worried about her.

“I’ll thank you properly later.”

“Sure.”

“Daddy, mommy…”

Snow starts mumbling in her sleep. I wonder what she’s dreaming about.

I poke her cheek, and she smiles.

She looks happy, so it must be a nice dream.

“…”

“Arata?”

I hug both her and Reina.

I was trying really hard not to look worried in front of Reina, and I knew that panicking would do no good, but…

Even though she’s back, I’m now afraid thinking about how she could’ve been gone.

I wasn’t even scared when I fought Wil, but it doesn’t seem strange to me. And I don’t think having a tough body that won’t get hurt isn’t the cause, I think it’s just part of being a parent.

“Let’s go home.”

“Yes…”
