I was reincarnated on an island where the strongest species live, so I will enjoy a peaceful life on this island – Chapter 182 – Edinburgh’s confession

We return to the side of the tent, and see bread and bacon sandwiches.

But that’s not all, there’s also fresh looking salad and what looks like consommé releasing warm vapor.

It’s like an ideal breakfast, and it gets my stomach growling a little.

“How is that! This is my creation!”

“Looks great! Can Snow eat!?”

“Yes yes! Ah, but wash your hands first.”

I look at Tiltue looking proud, and her back and forth with Snow, and smile. And Reina brings me some coffee.

“It’s rare for you to leave it all up to someone else.”

“She said she wanted to try it. And… I understand very well wanting to cook for the one she l-likes…”

“…I-I see…”

The way she got embarrassed while saying that makes me embarrassed too.

We’re already married, but I’m still not used to this…

“Oh oh oh… Getting all steamy so early?”

“Eh!?”

All of a sudden, Wil is here, eating a sandwich and grinning.

“Why are you up so early?”

“I knew you would get all flirty if given a chance, and I can conquer even the morning sun if it means I get to see it.”

“I’m pretty sure you conquered the sun already anyway.”

I don’t know the rules of a true ancestral, but she’s a perfect being created by god.

She doesn’t have weaknesses, unlike a normal vampire.

“I’m sorry, we didn’t mean to disturb you…”

“Ah, Edinburgh. Good morning.”

“Good morning. You too Reina…”

“Good morning.”

The familiarity between these two is still iffy, even though they’ve had a master and pupil relationship since Reina was young.

Edinburgh lost her memory when she got to this island, and forgot not just Reina, but even that she was one of the seven great mages.

Zephir and Reina agree that it was her own will that led to that happening, and if two of the greatest mages on the continent say so, it must be true.

She also shows no intention of getting her memories back, instead saying she will lead a new life on this island.

“She told me to get up in the morning and go talk to people… What do you think vampires are?”

“Mother, you can’t meet people late at night, can you?”

“It’s fine, because we live at different times… Not that it applies to me.”

Wil doesn’t usually listen to anyone, but she’s a bit softer when it’s Luna or Edinburgh.

With Luna, it’s because of what happened to her old friend Tamamo. With Edinburgh, it’s because she feels bad for making her into a familiar, and then leaving her when she came to this island.

Edinburgh has been helping me out a lot, so I wish she could get along with Reina, but…

“Daddy, if you don’t eat, Tiltue’s gonna be sad.”

“Eh?”

Snow’s words make me turn to Tiltue, who has tears in her eyes as she holds a sandwich she made towards me with both hands.

“M-maybe it would’ve been better to leave it to Reina… I know… It makes sense, I’m a beginner… I’m not sad…”

“I’ll eat it I’ll eat it! I’m really looking forward to having your sandwiches!”

I was so deep in thought, that I was ignoring her.

I quickly start eating, and feel the flavor of the smoked bacon and the crunch of the salad.

“Yes, it’s really good! You did really well!”

“Really!?”

“Yes, and it looks good too. You really did a good job.”

Says Reina, who is next to me and also eating, and Tiltue’s face loosens into a smile.

“Uhehehe… I see. I see!”

“Snow likes mommy’s…”

“Here Snow, it’s the one with strawberry that you like.”

I interrupt Snow by shoving a desert sandwich in her mouth.

She looks like she enjoys it, and forgets what she was saying.

“…Cute.”

Watching her stuff her cheeks like a squirrel makes me want to poke them.

“Edi, eat something too.”

“Yes, thank you Tiltue.”

“Hey, ancient dragon, why aren’t you offering me anything?”

“Didn’t you just take one!?”

It looks like Edinburgh is used to Tiltue calling her Edi.

They play with Snow a lot, so they along with Luna and Katima are becoming friends.

“Looking at master now makes me feel like a fool for worrying.”

“Reina?”

She says that with a sigh, and when she raises her head, there’s no hesitation in her eyes.

“…I won’t worry about the past anymore. I’ll see her as an inhabitant of this island.”

“I see. I think that’s good too…”

“Ah, that’s right, there is something I want to say to you two.”

Says Edinburgh, turning to us while holding a sandwich with two hands.

“I think I want to try to get my memories back.”

“…”

It feels like the air around Reina has frozen.
