And the result…
“I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry!”
“Geez, don’t apologize so much!”
“Raise your head! I’m the one at fault here!”
It’s nice that the misunderstanding has been cleared, but now Ceres won’t stop apologizing.
Xellos comes back from the forest, pretends he doesn’t see us, and Merlin closes her curtains after peeking from her window. It’s chaos.
Erie and I console Ceres, and we enter their house after she finally lets it go.
“Oh, Arc is out.”
“Yes, he went to the southern forest with Seti.”
“Seti?”
“They have been getting along lately, so they have been training together.”
Says Ceres while getting us drinks, and we have fun talking about how things have been.
I feel like Seti likes being alone, so I haven’t talked to him a lot, but apparently him and Arc are pretty compatible.
Edinburgh and I were just talking about how Seti and Cara aren’t too used to this island yet, but they’ve been making connections without me knowing.
Hm… It’s not good to make assumptions…
I’m bound to hurt someone if I do that, so I have to be careful.
“But isn’t it dangerous for those two to go to the forest alone?”
“Mister Dine or Miss Phi are with them, so I assume it’s not.”
“Apparently they took a liking to Arc, so they tend to go with him when he trains. And since Seti wants to be stronger, he started tagging along.”
“Eh…”
I guess he’ll be safe with the water spirit. Especially since he’s the most reasonable of the bunch.
They sometimes come by to check on Snow, and apparently became friends with Arc and the others before I knew it.
These circles getting wider is nice.
At first, they were all wondering what to do about the overpowered monsters around here, but lately, as I just saw with Xellos, they’ve been training where they can do so safely, or going around the forest with someone.
And as I think that, a strong presence comes from the sky to the south incredibly fast.
“This presence…”
The moment it enters my range of detection, it lands in front of Ceres’ house.
“Yahoo! Ceres, Erie, I came to visit!”
The door is slammed open, and Miss Miriel’s bright voice echoes.
It seems Mister Dine and Miss Phi like Arc, and Miss Miriel likes Ceres and Erie.
“Hello, Miss Miriel.”
“Oh, Arata! And Edi! How rare it is to see you here!”
Her innocent words match her smile, and her eyes shine even brighter when she sees us.
Ceres and Erie don’t seem particularly surprised, so I guess this is normal.
Miss Miriel looks around, and then tilts her head.
“Isn’t Snow here?”
“She’s at home with Tiltue and Miss Sheryl today. Do you want to stop by later?”
“Yes! That ancient dragon girl is cute too, so I want to give both a big hug and pat their heads. And I need to show Sheryl some love too!”
She’s super excited, but I imagine Snow will run away.
It’s not like she doesn’t like Miss Sheryl, but despite her liking being pampered, when you overdo it she tends to run.
Well, Snow’s iffy face when Miss Miriel hugs her looks really cute, so I don’t help her…
“Father, if you think that too much, Snow will hate you.”
“Oh? Did I say that out loud?”
“It showed on your face. And that girl is more perceptive than you think.”
I definitely don’t want that, but I want to see Snow being cute…
And as I ponder my options, Edinburgh looks exasperated.
“Good grief, what a doting parent.”
“It’s fine it’s fine! Kids are cute no matter what they do!”
“Right!?”
“…”
I agree with Miss Miriel, and Edinburgh’s exasperation grows.
She’s probably thinking we’re both overly-fond parents.
“So what are you doing here?”
She asks, and I remember that we’re here to hear Ceres and Erie talk about Edinburgh.
They met just before coming to this island. It was a coincidence, and since they both just happened to be going to the same place, they came here together.
“Come to think of it, didn’t Reina and Xellos save you?”
“That was a little before this. We were wanted by the kingdom, and Edinburgh sent Cara and Seti after us.”
“I did?”
“Yes. But I don’t know why you accepted that request from the kingdom…”
“I’m pretty sure when we were in that maritime city, Cara said ‘weren’t we talking about tracking them down and getting information about that lonely island at the end of the world? It was our most important mission’.”
It was said the seven great mages could destroy the kingdom if they came together.
Of course, they had Edinburgh, who was far outside of this framework, but still, they had no reason to obey an order from the kingdom.
If they were looking for the saint, it must be because of the rumors that Ceres summoned the demon king Wilhelmina.
“I see. I came to this island looking for mother.”
“Probably. But that’s pretty much all we have.”
“Cara and Seti probably have more to say.”
“Thank you, you two.”
Says Edinburgh, and Ceres smiles warmly.
“You really were like a representation of fear before you lost your memory, but I think that might have come from loneliness.”
“…Let me hit you once after you get your memories back. Then we’ll be even for you using gravity magic on us.”
“Yes…”
There was discord between them in the past, but it doesn’t feel like they’re going to hold on to that.
