I was reincarnated on an island where the strongest species live, so I will enjoy a peaceful life on this island – Chapter 192 – Crybaby Snow

“Uwaaaaan!”

As we leave the southern forest with Cara and approach the house, I hear Snow crying.

What’s wrong? Tiltue and Miss Sheryl are supposed to be looking after her.

“I’ll go check it out!”

I leave the other two and rush towards the house.

“I’m back!”

“Ah, darling! Look Snow, darling’s here!”

“Now! Come on, don’t cry!”

I enter the living room, and see Tiltue and Miss Miriel cuddling Snow. She came to visit after I left.

I don’t see Miss Sheryl anywhere, so I’m thinking she must’ve hidden herself when Miss Miriel arrived.

“That’s not important right now.”

Snow keeps crying, drowning out the other two’s voices, and doesn’t even notice I’m here.

I get close, and pick her up.

“…!?”

“Why are you crying so much?”

“Daddy?”

Snow is taken aback after I pick her up.

“I’m back, Snow.”

“Daddyyyyyyyyy!!”

“Uoh!?”

She starts crying loudly again and puts her arms around my neck, like she doesn’t want to let go no matter what.

Because of that, the magic energy she usually holds back explodes, and the room suddenly gets cold.

“Oh dear, her power is completely out of control.”

Says Miss Miriel, not looking particularly cold.

But Tiltue has little resistance to the cold.

“Ooooh…! I-I’ll go outside…”

“…!? Don’t go away Tiltue!”

“Ueee!?”

The sudden drastic temperature change makes Tiltue chatter her teeth, but Snow stops her.

“I-it’s cold so, just a little?”

“No!”

“You can see me outside through the window!”

“No! Stay!”

She tries to convince her, to no avail.

Tiltue is unable to beat Snow, who is throwing a fit, and gives up.

I tap my arm, signaling for Tiltue to come closer so I can hold her too.

“Snow, you’re troubling Tiltue.”

“Hm!”

Snow puffs her cheeks. It looks like she’s in a really bad mood.

“Kya! So cute! Let me poke your cheeks!”

“Stop, she really will start crying if you do that!”

“Stop! Don’t do that!”

That would really make things bad for Tiltue. But Snow isn’t usually this bratty. What happened?

“D-darling… W-w-what do I do…”

“Ah! How about we go outside!?”

She gets hit with Snow’s coldness directly in the house, so we rush outside.

It should be warmer than inside, but it’s like it’s suddenly winter here.

Everyone comes out of their homes to see what’s going on, but go back once they see Snow is throwing a fit, because they understand.

Everyone’s so casual about it, just because they know it’s not a strange weather phenomenon. I guess they’re used to it.

“Well then, if there is no real problem, I guess I will go back for today.”

“Y-yes Edinburgh.”

We light up the barbecue so Tiltue isn’t cold, and everyone huddles around it for its warmth.

“Snow? Are you still in a bad mood?”

“Uu…”

She fidgets in my arms, and doesn’t look up, like she’s still pouting.

“I guess not. Did something happen while I was away?”

“She was happy and playing at first… But then she thought you and Reina left her and weren’t coming back, and started crying.”

“Ah…”

There was that time when Reina went out looking for Zephir. Snow also thought she was left behind and cried a lot…

I thought it would be fine with Tiltue and Miss Sheryl here, but Reina really is special to her.

“It was scary…”

She holds me like a koala and whispers.

“Sorry.”

“Uu…”

Normally I would pat her back and she would feel better, but not today.

“And mommy?”

“Hum…”

I’ve already told her she left for a while to focus on her training.

She seemed to accept it then, but she’s a kid, so maybe she didn’t really understand it.

What should I do…

Then Miss Miriel starts poking me.

“Maybe she’ll feel reassured if she sees Reina working hard?”

“Can we do that?”

“Yes. Piece of cake.”

She moves her finger, making a circle of light appear in the air, and images are projected in it.

Oh? She said she was going to the forest…

“Graham and Gyes, and others.”

“Isn’t that where they fight? That’s dangerous…”

I say, but she’s not right in the middle of their fight. She’s sitting cross-legged a little further away with her eyes closed.

And Wil is behind her…

‘Don’t peek.’

Magic energy is released this way, and Miss Miriel’s circle of light disappears.

“Ah, it’s gone. They shouldn’t have been able to notice it…”

“Mommy…”

“Ah…”

She saw Reina for just a second, so she doesn’t know what she’s doing.

But apparently Snow understands that it’s serious.

“We can’t see mommy yet?”

“Yes. She’s working very hard, so we can’t bother her. It’s not because she doesn’t like you, we just have to wait a bit longer, okay?”

“Uu… Okay…”

She whispers, sounding lonely, and presses her face against me.

Then she gets tired from crying, and I hear her sleeping.

“I-is she asleep…?”

“Yes. The temperature should return to normal.”

“I see… Geez, she’s a greater dragon than ancient dragons when she cries…”

Says Tiltue, while patting Snow’s head.

Is that like calling her a kaiju? Well, she is a member of one of the strongest races, so if she went crazy on the continent, it really would look like a monster movie…

“But I feel bad for her like this.”

“Yes, she’ll probably cry again even if you’re here, darling. Can’t we do something about it?”

At this rate, Snow’s stress might skyrocket. But I don’t want to bother Reina either.

“How about a little change of scenery!?”

“Eh?”

“Let’s go visit Yggdrasil! Then everyone can pamper her!”

I think Snow will like that idea.
