I feel the warmth of the sun and hear the wind moving leaves and branches, as I lie on the hammock in the backyard and do some thinking.
“Marriage…”
The other day, Arc braved the dungeon to get rings for his lovers.
Both were moved to tears, and happy that they had something tangible.
Conversely, I announced my engagement to everyone, but haven’t done anything concrete.
Especially in regards to Tiltue. All I did was announce that we’d be family.
I don’t think marriage can’t exist without procreation, but she knows what a mate is.
And since I’m doing it with Reina, it’s going to come up sooner or later.
She’s happy hugging me and having her head pat for now, but…
I don’t really feel lust for Tiltue either. Not yet anyway. We formed a relationship, but I feel like that should be shown in a clear, different way.
“Come to think of it, how do people get married on this island?”
On the continent, it depends on the country.
In Arc’s case, it was something I’m familiar with, pledging one’s love for the other in a church.
Reina is from that same country, but what about Tiltue?
I’m not hung up on anything, so I want to do it how they want it.

“And that’s why I’m here to ask…”
“I’d like to tell you I’d do anything for you, but the timing…”
“I’m really sorry.”
I’ve come to the ancient dragons’ village to see Graham, but he’s about to go out.
I’m not in a hurry, so I can leave that for another day. But then I decide to take a walk through the forest, I find him all lovey dovey with Sakuya, with his head on her lap.
Needless to say, I didn’t do it on purpose, and the moment our eyes meet, I turn around to leave.
But Sakuya says I might as well go there, so I’ve ended up getting in the way of their date.
Now we’re sitting on the ground facing each other.
“So, what did you want to ask?”
“Well…”
Sakuya being here makes me all self-conscious.
Wil would’ve been happy to stir the pot, but I can’t do that.
And as I struggle, Graham turns to Sakuya with a serious expression.
“Sakuya, go back for today.”
“Yes, I understand.”
“Wai! That’s not okay! I came here all of a sudden, so we can talk another day!”
I feel bad, as Sakuya gets up with no hesitation.
I can’t just chase her away…
“You’re the one who got us together, bro. If you have a problem, it comes first.”
“He is right. It is thanks to you that we can meet like this whenever we want.”
“You two…”
Their trust makes me happy. We’re not from the same race, but I really feel like we built a relationship we can call friendship.
That said, I really am not in a hurry, so…
“But it’s still important, isn’t it?”
“Well, it is…”
“Then don’t mind us.”
“Thank you, Sakuya.”
I say, and she smiles warmly.
After she leaves, I sit back down.
“So what is it?”
“It’s about Tiltue. How do ancient dragons get married?”
“Isn’t it a bit late to ask that, bro?”
He looks exasperated.
“I’ve only started thinking about it seriously recently…”
“No, that’s not it. Didn’t you two meet with a marriage proposal?”
“Eh? …Ah!”
We did, didn’t we?
It was right after I got to this island. I hit an emperor boar, and it landed where Tiltue was sleeping.
‘By the way Tiltue, why do you call me your husband and darling?’
‘Hn? What a strange thing to ask. Because I’m accepting your passionate proposal, of course!’
I think that was what we said.
“Uwa, so nostalgic…”
‘Giving a female a strong monster with powerful magic energy infused. That’s a proposal for us ancient dragons!’
I’m pretty sure that’s what she said.
That was a misunderstanding, but… It ended up becoming reality.
“Back then, I couldn’t have imagined this relationship would happen.”
“She was really happy about marrying you, and started talking about love at first sight and stuff like that.”
“Hahaha, that’s just like Tiltue.”
But yes, that was when it started for us.
It feels like it was a long time ago, so I forgot…
“Then I know what to do.”
“Do you want help?”
“…Yes, I have one thing to ask.”
Graham grins as I start planning.
