No no, I really can’t deal with a hundred.
Why are there so many of them anyway? There’s no way I can beat them.
They’re weak, but with that many of them, I’d get stabbed for sure.
I feel like grumbling, but living alone means I have no one to grumble to.
I have friends, but I don’t want them to know I’m unemployed, so I don’t want to call them. They’d make fun of me for sure, so I want to at least get another job before I talk to them about this.
I’m in the dungeon again today, but the hundred horned rabbits are still in front of the staircase.
I was hoping someone else would take care of them, but no.
Oh well.
I take a net out of my bag, and throw them on the horned rabbits.
I manage to trap most of them, but five escape and run towards me.
Should I retreat? I hesitate for a moment, but I can deal with five.
Dodge, dodge, one down.
Dodge, dodge, dodge, two down.
Dodge, can’t quite dodge, block with shield. My posture is thrown off, but I skewer another horned rabbit with magic as it attacks me.
Two to go.
One of them is stuck to my shield, so I smack it to the ground.
The last one isn’t deterred, but I dodge it and attack it to finish it.
Ahh… I really feel like I did something here.
But I still have to deal with the ones under the net.
I don’t want to waste time, so I go around bashing them with my club one by one.
There are so many wriggling under the net that I feel a little scared, but I go around taking them down without much emotion before long.
Looking back on what I just did, I realize something.
I used magic, but I’m not tired. When this thought crosses my mind, I’m already using magic again.
I think I’m the type that acts before thinking.
And I regret that.
The ground thorns pierce a horned rabbit, and the sudden exhaustion brings me to one knee.
It looks like my magic energy has grown, but two is my limit.
There are still more than half of the horned rabbits to go, so I drag my tired body back to work.
This forced labor is no joke. No wonder people called it the three D’s.
I continue with my consciousness half faded, and another transparent glass ball drops.
I try to pick it up, and it disappears into my hand.
Another hallucination?
By the time I’m done, including collecting the horns, it’s night.
Also, my magic energy has recovered, but I’m stopping here.
I stop by the supermarket on my way home, and buy some fried chicken and green soybeans.
“Cheers again today!”
