I was excited about being in the dungeon again, and ended up staying too long.
I went until the twenty-second floor to check how I was doing, but my body felt heavy.
Still, it moved plenty, and I think I can go today too if I make some adjustments. I can’t use my Wind Magic skill too well yet, so I want to train it today.
But let’s go to the realtor.
That letter said I have to leave before March, so apparently construction will begin in April at the latest. I need to find a new place and move before then.
I look up realtors on my smartphone, and walk towards one close to the station.
◇ ◇ ◇
Hello.
One room, living room, dining room, and kitchen. Yes, separate toilet and bathroom.
My budget? Hm… Thirty thousand to seventy thousand? I can still afford that.
I don’t need a garage. No, I don’t have a car.
Is it inconvenient? No, I’m used to walking.
Ah, at this price it will be far from the station?
I should have a car?
Aren’t there any more?
Eh? My occupation?
I’m unemployed, but I’ve been making money in the dungeon.
…None? You have nothing to rent?
What do you mean?
According to the realtor, people ask to not rent their apartments to seekers, so there aren’t any for us to rent.
Apparently I could see one if it was municipal housing, but that would not match my specifications. And the realtor says that would be far from the station anyway, so I should have a car.
I ask if there’s anywhere I can see stuff I can rent, and apparently the guild deals in property for seekers, so I should go there.
◇ ◇ ◇
And so, I’ve come to the guild, but the door is closed.
Apparently there was a problem in their systems, so they decided to close for the day.
There’s a tent set up outside, where they’re dealing with materials taken from the dungeon.
Normally that would be suspended too, but seekers’ livelihoods depend on that, so they can’t.
I ask someone buying materials for an ETA of when the systems will be back online, and I’m told it will take at least until tomorrow.
I nod and head to the dungeon.

The twenty-second floor.
A silent condor approaches, and I attack it with Wind Magic.
A blade of wind flies from my hand, but dissipates without hitting the monster.
I use it again towards the silent condor.
It also misses and dissipates high in the air.
Wind magic is easy to use. It lacks the power of Earth Magic, but it’s fast to activate and hard to see, so it’s pretty tricky.
It’s a powerful weapon from the perspective of the user, but the silent condor dodges it easily like it can sense Wind Magic.
And this leads the silent condor to notice me and fly straight down at me.
I create a tornado centered on me, and try to catch the silent condor in it, but it’s like it can read the flow of the wind. It stops its attack and flies around in circles.
I guess even a silent condor wouldn’t charge into a tornado, and it starts flying around while watching me.
Then I should extend the tornado’s power and range, so I infuse even more magic energy.
And now I’m in the air.
I didn’t think about it before using it, but increasing the power of the tornado made it thicker, and it caught me, throwing me up in the air.
I deactivate the magic, and the silent condor catches me in the air, unprotected.
A harsh pain courses through my body as its claws dig into my abdomen.
I knew silent condors could carry over a hundred kilos, but I didn’t think they could carry me.
…Taking a trip through the sky with the silent condor isn’t so bad.
What are you talking about, idiot!?
I cut its leg with a wind blade, and it releases me.
Then I use the divine bird boots to kick the air a couple of times to cut its head off with the greatsword of fortitude.
We both fall.
At this rate I’m going to crash, and I’ll be seriously injured even if I don’t die, so I use Wind Magic to create an air cushion.
And I’m taken again.
Eh? I look up, and see another silent condor got me.
Apparently more than one was waiting for the chance to go after the pig thrown into the air.
Then I should take this one down too, but I’ll get caught again.
I look around, and see over ten silent condors flying around waiting to come after me.
In the end, I enjoy the sky for an hour, and learn about the greatness of the ground.
Next time I see a silent condor, I’m killing it on sight.
