I’m going to the dungeon again.
But first, I need to go to the large volume store. The club I got yesterday is unusable, so I need a new one.
I go to the weapons area, get a three thousand yen club, and head to the counter. There’s a magic item next to the cash register where people can see their stats for a hundred yen.
I took down so many pill bugs yesterday, that I could very well be level ten now.
I use a hundred yen coin, and see my stats.
…
My hopes are dashed. I worked so much, and I’m only level two.
I guess I can use magic now, but the unpopular earth element doesn’t get me too excited.
I buy the club, and head to the dungeon.
◇ ◇ ◇
Today, I make it to the second floor smoothly. From this point forward, monsters proactively attack people, so I need to be careful.
I steel my nerves, and start taking out pill bugs.
I’ve heard that these are on every floor. They’re like the cleaners of the dungeon. But they still go down easily, because they’re not any stronger.
I keep going, until I find a horned rabbit.
It dashes at me with an incredible speed, and I block it with my shield, which is pierced by its horn.
I flinch for a second, but seeing the rabbit stuck and flailing around trying to free itself cools my head.
I smack it with my club a few times until it stops moving.
Is it cruel? It’s a bunny, but being a monster means it has a nasty face. Don’t lump it with a regular bunny.
And more importantly, if it attacks me, I have to take it down.
I take the horn and put it in my bag. A horn is worth a hundred yen, but the body tastes bad, so it can’t be sold.
I keep going and look for monsters, until I turn a corner and see another horned rabbit.
It hasn’t noticed me.
Suddenly, I get the idea to try magic, so I hold up my hand and cast Earth Magic.
I picture thorns growing out of the ground, and it works.
But I’m really tired.
I start breathing heavily, and it’s hard to even move.
I take the rabbit horn, and go home.
