I’m taking down horned rabbits on the second floor.
Since I ended up with a hole in my shield yesterday, I looked up how to defeat horned rabbits, and it turned out to be very easy to find. There were even videos.
It said horned rabbits only run in a straight line and jump, so if you dodge them when they run at you, you can then just smack them down from behind.
The information is correct. Once I dodge to the side, the horned rabbit completely loses sight of me, and starts looking around.
It tries to attack again, but I dodge to the side and observe it. It turns out it closes its eyes when it jumps.
But why?
Once it lands, I hit it three times and defeat it.
From there, I take them down easily, ending up with a total of ten.
Horned rabbits are just prey for me at this point. They aren’t worth much though.
After two hours and ten of them, I’ve only made a thousand yen.
This is less than I would earn at a part time, so I get sick of it and head to the next floor.
Oh, that’s right. When I used magic and got tired yesterday, that was because I didn’t have enough magic energy.
I felt all better an hour after I left the dungeon.
Magic energy can be increased with training, but the limit varies from person to person. It can also go up with a person’s level, but that’s a phenomenon only observed in people that specialize in magic.
But I’m only doing this as a stopgap until my next job, so that doesn’t concern me.
I look for the next staircase, and find a hundred horned rabbits.
…
I decide to run away.
