Level Gacha ~ It turns out the dump stat 『Luck』 is the most important – Roll 274 – The first bear extermination

After leaving the cave, we keep going to the top of the mountain after a detour. The forest gets less dense as we approach the top, meaning our vision clears up. This is another thing that can’t be seen from the outside.

Maybe there’s some sort of mechanism in place that makes it so only people who are actually here can know.

We keep going up without a bear in sight, until we eventually come across our first one.

It’s lumbering on four legs, and I catch a glimpse of the fact that it’s much more vicious than a boar.

It’s probably over two meters tall when it gets up, like the brown bears I saw on TV.

What is this strength?

There are base monsters like you!? I feel like screaming that at it.

“Isn’t it too strong? It’s like a rare monster on the second floor.”

“Yes, I’m surprised too. It’s stronger than I heard. But they don’t voluntarily come out of their territory. It’s not easy getting here, so most adventurers conquering this dungeon never encounter this monster.”

“They’re only in this hard to reach place, so it’s hard for people with Appraisal to get here. Maybe that’s why it’s only known that it’s strong, and no one actually knew its stats.”

“First impressions?”

“Yeah, it’s a total beast. Too strong for a beginner dungeon.”

I agree, Aki.

“I felt it so far too, but this floor’s difficulty isn’t right.”

“Yes. Judging from the difficulty, this could very well be the fourth floor.”

“Ah, Shouta, the bear has noticed us.”

‘Vuu…!’

The forest bear lets out a low groan as it looks at us. There’s some distance, and it’s a low rank… But the bear has quite the presence and it’s a little scary.

“Oh… This really isn’t the impact of a regular monster.”

It’s like I came across a Murder Rabbit on the mountain.

Maybe it’s just because of the strong impression I have in my mind of bears?

“…Let’s just fight it and see. Record it.”

“Yes.”

“Leave it to me!”

‘Vuooo!!’

I jump out in front of the forest bear, and it charges this way, running on all fours. If it’s as strong as a rare, I figure we should capture it on video.

It’s opening hostilities with a ram. It looks like there’s more force behind it than a fang boar, but I’m used to those moves. I get close to it as it charges, and instantly slash its throat.

I see the forest bear turn into smoke, and take a deep breath.

“Uooooo!!!”

I use the art skill War Cry II.

This is supposed to boost the stats of the user and allies, but it has another effect when fighting beasts.

‘Grrrr.’

‘Vuu…!’

‘Vuoo!!’

The forest bears around here gather one after the other.

This is a territorial monster, so if I yell, they come running fast. I’m glad to have my exclusives’ information. The only downsides are that it’s a little embarrassing, and the enemies get really pissed from the start… But territorial monsters have a low boiling point anyway, so it’s not a big deal.

“Enki, Enril, let’s go!”

‘Gogo!!’

‘Popo!!’

Let the bear hunt begin|!

◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇

After calling monsters with War Cry and finishing them, I look for enemies with Enril, and move to the next area if there are none. I bait them with War Cry, and exterminate them again. This repeats for about an hour.

Since we just got here and I need to update the map, we’re moving cautiously, and it takes quite a bit of time to hit a hundred monsters. But that’s not the biggest issue, it’s that there are too few of them. When I use War Cry, at most eight run towards me, and sometimes three or four.

That means we had to go all the way around the mountainside to take down a hundred. I heard they only lived in the center of the mountain, but this is still less than I thought.

And judging by how they respawn, are there less than a hundred here normally?

But then another problem comes. If they only appear in this narrow area, surely the places where a rare monster can spawn are limited.

I tried Enril’s Bird Attack along the way, but there wasn’t any trouble. Only the one that was hit came after me. It looks like that won’t be a problem on the third floor.

“Shouta, I see smoke.”

“Ready!”

As I’m lost in thought, I hear we achieved our goal.

The smoke gathers the smoke around it and expands, before heading towards the top of the mountain.

I have worries about spawn points, but let’s take this one down first and see.

We chase the smoke, and it disappears towards the clouds. I use Hawk Eye, thinking about safety. This skill can even ignore obstacles to detect monsters.

We advance carefully, but in the end, cross the clouds without meeting any monsters.

“…So this is the top.”

It’s a flat field. It’s like it was cut open specifically for battles, and I get nervous.

Strangely, the smoke is still gathering in the middle. All the others took one minute to spawn, but this one clearly behaves strangely.

“I don’t know what will come. Everyone be careful! And it’s a gentle slope, but watch your back so you don’t fall.”

““““Yes!””””

I sort out my feelings, and the smoke is suddenly ejected from the center of the field.

From it, emerges a three meter tall bipedal bear.

‘Goaaaa!!’

“True Appraisal.”

A rare this strong?

The powered up one will be at least twice as strong, and the rare II should come around that time too. I can’t wait.

‘Gogo!!’

‘Popo!’

‘Pururu!’

‘Goaaaaah!!’
