Level Gacha ~ It turns out the dump stat 『Luck』 is the most important – Roll 85 – Big isn’t always better

It’s been a while since the goblin hunt started.

At first I was hunting four or five, but once I got the hang of it, I started going after one group of ten or so after the other near a settlement. They’re a bit strong, so I have to be careful in each fight, making this different from basically fighting on autopilot in the beginner dungeon. I have to stay focused.

“Master, the next group will put you over a hundred.”

“Got it!”

I usually count them myself, but I wouldn’t be able to focus on fighting, so Aira’s doing it now.

Unlike what I’m used to, this dungeon has a really high density of monsters. They’re in groups, but also, the closer we get to settlements, the closer the groups get to each other.

That means that if I take out a group, the next one soon follows. If the respawn rate is also faster, that could be bad.

“That was the hundredth.”

“Oh?”

Aira points to a fighter goblin, and its smoke hangs in the air instead of dissipating.

This is the sign that a rare monster is coming. I was wondering what would happen with the hundred monsters in a row system, but it looks like all the goblins count as just goblins.

I finish off the remaining ones in a hurry, and watch the smoke.

I’ve been hunting around a settlement, so this has pretty much been monopolized by me for the time being. But where will it spawn… It’d be annoying if it went to another settlement.

Almost a minute later, the smoke soars in the center of the settlement, moves to a pillar with weird masks that’s apparently called a tribal pillar, and starts swelling.

So that’s where it spawns.

“Guooh…”

“Appraisal.”

“These things are always big.”

Its body that’s over three meters tall reminds me a lot of the powered up Hobgoblin. It’s muscular and wearing magic iron, and this one’s skill set seems to lean more towards power. And this time I don’t have Ayane to support with magic.

“If only Ayane was here.”

“What should I do, master?”

“More weaklings might spawn if I take too long. Help me with that.”

“Understood. I will target them.”

She says before hiding.

“Fireball.”

I imitate Ayane and target the King Goblin’s head with a ball of flames, and I don’t know if it’s a skill issue or what, but it makes it disappear with a light swing of its sword.

Come to think of it, mage goblins might drop Fire Magic skill orbs.

I completely forgot about that as I went from one fight to the other, so maybe we should leave for a safe area once this is done and check.

“Over here you big idiot!”

I use Crimson Sword on the mithril sword and strike at the gaps in its armor, but it knows what I’m doing, and evades.

Maybe it’s its Intelligence or just the difference in our stats, but the monsters I’ve faced so far didn’t dodge this much. It looks like this one is a proper warrior.

I keep crossing swords with it while holding back my skills. It’s huge, but I have more Physical Strength. The size difference makes it so most attacks come from above my head, making them stronger, but I think that puts us on even ground when we cross swords.

And maybe it’s losing its temper, because it takes a deep breath and…

“Guoooooh!!”

“…!?”

The Goblin King roars, and my whole body goes stiff.

What? I can’t move!?

It’s like my body has been turned to stone, and the pressure coming from it dramatically increases. It’s also holding the sword with both hands now, and holding it high.

Not good!!

“Adamantine Armor II!!”

My body is clad in a golden light, and the lethal attack clashes against it.

Cliiiiink!

“Guooh!?”

The Goblin King stumbles after being bounced back by an invisible wall.

Just as it’s holding its sword up again, I’m finally able to move.

…That was close. I might have died if I didn’t have Adamantine Armor II. And that attack was really strong, probably because it was boosted by skills. But if even that bounced back… This skill really is immeasurably efficient.

No wonder its value is in the hundreds of millions.

“Backstab.”

“Guooh!?”

Aira appears behind the King Goblin, and stabs both legs through its armor.

It uses its hands to stop it from falling face first, but that leaves its head wide open.

“Super Strength III, Adamantine Strength II. Uooooh!!”

Slash!!

I slash the King Goblin’s neck as hard as I can.

A pained voice escapes its throat as blood gushes, and it turns into smoke as it falls limp.
