Level Gacha ~ It turns out the dump stat 『Luck』 is the most important – Roll 96 – Potion and magic

We all surround the treasure chest and see what came out of it. Maki casts Appraisal, and tells everyone what she learns.

“A potion? It’s a level two blue one, so it’s worth at least three hundred thousand.”

Yes, it is blue liquid. If I remember correctly, potions can be blue or red. Blue heals physical wounds, and red heals illnesses.

“So potions that come from dungeons are valuable?”

“Yep. The ones on the market are inferior potions that try to copy level one’s. The originals are more effective, and cost more.”

“The commercial ones will slowly heal scratches if applied on the affected parts, but the real ones heal on the spot. Also, level two’s heal lacerations, and level three’s can be used on broken bones.”

That’s incredible. I guess that price makes sense if they heal wounds on the spot. But…

“But doesn’t Healing Magic defeat the purpose of paying for potions?”

“…Shouta, do you think you can just use magic unconditionally if you learn it?”

“…Eh? Is that wrong?”

I say to Aki, and she looks surprised.

“Didn’t you learn this in school? Magic is useful, but not unless you have the appropriate Intelligence in relation to its level.”

“…Really?”

“Really really.”

I didn’t know that. I thought anyone could use magic if they learned it. And if you maxed it out right away, it would just be that much more useful… But it doesn’t work like that?

…Ah, I see. So that’s why Ayane stopped at Fire Magic Lv3 despite all her money.

“Aki, it’s mostly people with a high Intelligence growth and magic skills that learn about how to use magic. The normal adventurers who fight on the vanguard don’t tend to learn about it.”

“Ah, that’s true. We learned it as an extension of our training as receptionists, but I guess normally you wouldn’t.”

They’re both skirting around that, but my stats when I was in school were all between two and four.

No one expected anything from me back then, so it’d make sense to feel that teaching me those things would be a waste of time.

“S-should we just leave from here? We can’t just stand here and chat while monsters respawn.”

Says Ayane, noticing the mood is getting a little heavy.

I don’t really mind, but I pat her head because I appreciate the consideration.

“Should we go to the same place as last time?”

We all go to an open area in the lower left part of the map.

◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇

It’s safe once we leave the forest, so I ask a few things on my mind.

“So Ayane. We can keep walking, but can you tell me the conditions to use magic?”

“Yes! First, offensive magic. There aren’t really any conditions to use Lv1 magic, it starts from Lv2. You need a hundred Intelligence for Lv2, three hundred for Lv3, and it’s said you need five hundred for Lv4.”

“Eh…”

So to use Lv2 magic, a regular person with fast growth would have to be around level ten. It’s not that hard.

…That said, without Level Gacha, I’d have to be level one hundred.

“Then there’s Healing Magic. You need fifty Intelligence for Lv1, two hundred for Lv2, four hundred fifty for Lv3, and it’s said you need seven hundred for Lv4.”

“That really ramps up.”

“Yes! It’s not easy!”

Ayane spreads her arms and gestures to show how hard it is.

I should reach it eventually, but it’s not easy for a specialist like Ayane. I really should get golden seeds often.

“But your Intelligence goes over seven hundred thanks to Command. Can you meet the condition then?”

“…I wonder. It’s uncommon to have a skill that boosts stats that far beyond what’s needed, and Command itself is not making the rounds or anything… I’m sorry, I don’t know.”

“I see. If you can use it, you should learn it. It looks useful.”

Thanks to Command, our stats are one point four times what they are by default.

I think it should work, because the boost is reflected in the stats. Ayane’s Healing Magic is level two, so I want her to go up to level four.

“How much can you heal with Lv4?”

“Hum…”

Ayane doesn’t know what to say, so Maki responds instead.

“Shouta, it’s been established that Healing Magic has about the same effect as dungeon potions of the same level.”

“Then Healing Magic Lv3 can heal broken bones? Oh…? But didn’t you do that to that adventurer before?”

“That’s the effect of Wisdom of Sorcery. It makes magic one grade higher.”

“I see.”

It makes Healing Magic one grade higher, and increases the power and area of effect of offensive magic. It’s a pretty strong skill.

“There is no blue and red concept with magic, so Ayane’s Healing Magic is both blue and red level two. Her magic can deal with both, so it can heal broken bones, and treat status conditions like poison and paralysis.”

“Fufun!”

Poison… That’s not something I’ve ever had to think about on upper floors, but I will have to worry about eventually.

“And level four potions work on burns and freezing.”

“Burns…”

Yes, goblins can use Fire Magic too. I dodged it that time, but surely it would hurt if it hit.

I need to get that soon, because I don’t want them to leave with wounds.

“I need to get stronger and go back to the high rank dungeon soon.”

“I will accompany you.”

“I’ll do my best there!”

We keep talking, and eventually reach our destination, and Aki and Maki lay down a sheet

“I think I should start hunting right away. Sorry Ayane, but you should stay here for now.”

“Disappointed!”

Ayane does an exaggerated reaction. No, her eyes really show serious surprise.

I feel bad because she was so fired up, but this is a forest with mostly fluff bugs. There’s nothing for her to do when I’m hunting a hundred.

“Help Aki and Maki instead. Both the new place and car are important.”

“Understood!”

“Later, Aki and Maki.”

“Later.”

“See you soon, Shouta.”
