I’m done checking all the skills I wanted to check, so we decide to leave the dungeon.
Then Aki talks about the last time we were here in a funny way, and Ayane gets jealous. There’s a bit of a quarrel, so we settle on me holding them and Maki as we leave.
My Physical Strength means I’m strong enough to hold all three without using skills, but the issue now is that I don’t have enough arms. That means I have to carry Ayane on my back, but… It just looks weird to anyone seeing us.
This is definitely going to be a topic of discussion on the boards. It was pretty terrible last time when I checked it too.
…But I guess I have to bear with it, since I have two popular receptionists.
I’ve become closer to Aki and Maki since last time, and they’re happily hanging on to me. I’m happy too, don’t get me wrong.
I would’ve definitely lost my balance if I attempted something like this last time, but the Martial Arts skill helps me with my core, so I don’t shake or anything.
When I reach the association with the girls, I’m showered with jealous and curious eyes until we get to the same conference room as before.
There I tell Youko about fighting the second rare monster of that line, about the magic the enemy and my ally used, and how it destroyed half the forest on the left side of the map.
And then…
“I’m sorry Youko, but this rare monster can be a little troubling, so we decided to talk to our mother before revealing the details.”
“…I understand. But is that for his sake, or the association?”
“Fufu, I see, fine. We did agree to let you have what you got from this dungeon.”
“That’s our Youko! Ah, but… Can we tell her that part, Shouta?”
Asks Aki.
“Yes, it’s fine. It’s valuable information, but I don’t know if it’s worth the effort.”
“Hahaha, yes. So Youko…”
Youko falls off her chair when she hears what Aki has to say, but it’s understandable. There’s value in something you didn’t think was there being there all along.
But from what I see on my map, all the treasure chests are on top of tall mountains.
The forests on the first floor aren’t all that big. They’re between fifty to two hundred kilometers on one side. The height of the trees varies, but there’s always one stupidly big tree close to the center.
It’s like that in small forests, but in bigger ones there are two or three that can be seen from outside the forest. Judging by what I see on the map and what I see with my eyes, the treasure chests are clearly on top of those big trees.
It’s possible to find nice stuff in iron chests, but it could be pretty shocking to find nothing good. Not to mention that it takes quite a bit of skill and abilities to climb trees with pretty much nothing to hang on to.
There are seven around this area, and I don’t know when they respawn, but climbing trees and coming back down over and over might leave people literally broken. And it should be bad for their business if people start to come here just for that…
After expressing her worries, Youko thinks for a bit.
“I can’t decide this on my own. I will bring it up in tonight’s meeting.”
I think she’s talking about a meeting in this association, not like the branch manager meetings.
“See you tomorrow then.”
“Yes. You can go straight in, I’m sure your exclusives know about the precautions needed on the second floor.”
“Understood.”
“Ah, and…”
“…?”
What? Youko looks kind of resigned.
“There have been no reports of rare monsters on the second floor, so try not to…”
“Yes… Don’t make them spawn in front of customers, right?”
“Yes! Can you do that?”
“We will try to be careful, but the dungeon decides where they spawn…”
It’ll be fine if my guess is correct, but it could be wrong.
Well, not counting where slime spawned, they always spawned in places that seemed obvious, so I want to think it will be fine as long as they don’t break that rule. Wait, Youko is working on the assumption that I’m definitely going there to spawn rare monsters.
I peek at the other girls, and no one shows any sign of objecting.
Well, I mean, this is technically a date, so I want to be careful about that. Patience, patience…
“Can you give us a detailed map of the second floor? We might be able to work something out then. Right Shouta?”
Asks Aki.
“Well, it would help to narrow things down…”
“Uu… Map? Oh all right. But this is secret information we don’t typically give adventurers.”
“It’s all for the good of managing the dungeon, right!?”
“…I’ll send you the data later, Aki.”
“Thanks!”
After ending things smoothly here, we head to the big shopping mall next to the association.
We go buy the swimwear right away, but I’m done pretty quickly because I just buy some plain swim trunks. I want to head over to where the girls are, but they want to show me what they’re getting tomorrow, so I’m left all alone.
I sit on a bench and space out, when Aira walks over to me.
“Aren’t you going to buy a swimsuit? I didn’t see you over there on the sales floor.”
“I already have a combat swimsuit.”
“Combat… Swimsuit…!?”
What’s that!?
“There are underwater stages and floors in dungeons. And since I figure you are going to want to fight monsters, I decided I would need it.”
No confidence in me, uh? Not that I can say she’s wrong.
“So, is it all rubber or something?”
“Do you know bio rubber swimsuits? Yes, it is like that.”
Aira looks it up, and shows it to me.
“Eh, I see…”
“You look disappointed. Should I cut the leg parts and make it a high leg one?”
“Eh? No no no, you don’t have to.”
“Fufu, as you wish.”
Aira in a high leg swimsuit… It’s not like I don’t want to see it.
“I will get one next time.”
“Eh!?”
I cover my mouth. Did I say it out loud?
“Master, you are like the lady in that your thoughts often show on your face.”
“Mu…”
Was it a trick question… I totally fell for it.
