Level Gacha ~ It turns out the dump stat 『Luck』 is the most important – Roll 111 – Bow training

I take off my swimming trunks, wipe myself, and put on my armor.

Armor might not be necessary since I have Adamantine Armor III, but I can’t be too careful with monsters that are new to me.

Besides, Maki would be sad if I got hurt because of that, and I want to avoid that at all cost.

I see everyone is waiting for me when I step outside.

Well, I guess I’m the only one here wearing armor… Ah, but Aira’s is a combat swimsuit I suppose.

“Thanks for waiting. Let’s start by going to where we can see enemies.”

They nod, and follow me.

I guess Aki and Maki are going to watch from a bit further away. Come to think of it, what’s Command’s area of effect? I didn’t see any real information on my smartphone, so I guess we have to test it.

And as I think that, we find monsters that live on the second floor.

They’re red hermit crabs with pure white shells.

Actually, the shell seems to be a meter tall and long, so it’s immediately apparent by their size that they’re monsters, but one of the scissors is abnormally large too. If it caught someone in them, they’d be helpless, right?

I see, no wonder they’re called that.

There are dozens of groups of between ten to twenty of these scissor crabs here and there. It was one thing when they were far away, but now that we’re a bit close, they’re kind of scary. Those scissors give them a good sense of presence, and there are a lot of them too.

Yes, it makes sense that they wouldn’t allow anyone below C rank to fight them. One could underestimate them based on their level, but they’re in big groups too. And that’s not all.

“Maki, the employee said something about these monsters having some characteristics, but what’s that about?”

“They attack people when they get close, like regular monsters, but they don’t see well. Instead, they respond to sound. Also, when one is attacked, all the others notice their enemy and swarm them.”

“Uwah.”

“Thankfully, it doesn’t seem like they react in a chain, so it’s best to attack one from a distance and then deal with the ones that come to attack. There are other monsters like this in other dungeons, so Aira might be used to dealing with them.”

“Yes. Charging in recklessly against these monsters might lead to unnecessary damage being taken, so as Miss Maki stated, it is best to carefully draw in the ones closest to us, and take them out in turn.”

“I see.”

So it’s time to bring this out.

I hold the Kaiser Vein, and draw it.

The first arrow hits a scissor crab in the forehead, and it disappears into smoke.

Once it clears, I see its shell is on the ground, but… The others aren’t moving.

“…Uh?”

I turn around, but the others are just as confused. Maki then looks like she thought of something.

“Could it be that they don’t react if the monster is taken out in one hit?”

“Eh? Then it’s easy.”

I take out five more scissor crabs, and they all turn into smoke after an arrow pierces their heads, not even realizing what happened. And sure enough, the others don’t react.

“This is really easy. But it will be hard to get the items until a good chunk of them is down.”

“Don’t worry, I can do so without them even noticing me.”

“Seriously? You really are good. I guess I’ll keep hunting.”

I keep taking them down without moving from this spot.

There are a couple of times when I miss their head and hit their scissors, and multiple scissor crabs come to attack. But just as their Agility suggests, they’re really slow, so if I stay calm, I can deal with them before they ever get to me.

My bow has infinite arrows as long as I have magic energy, and with Magic Energy Regeneration on top of it, it really feels infinite. They barely move, and there’s a ton of them, so this really is the best target practice I could hope for.

And as I keep improving my skill with the bow, I take out a lot of them before I know it, so Aira speaks to me.

“Master, two more.”

“Thanks. But it really feels too easy.”

“That’s just how good you are, Shouta.”

“That’s right, it’s all you, darling!”

Say Aki and Ayane, and I try to calm the excited Ayane down. I peek at the scissor crabs, but they still aren’t reacting.

I’ve noticed while hunting that they react to footsteps and wariness from other scissor crabs, but not to human voices.

So that’s why none of them came over when we were making so much noise in the morning.

“I wonder how these shells are processed…”

“Apparently they’re very hard. Let’s both call a number one and number two craftsman.”

“Yes. I’m sure there are groups that deal with shells, so let’s look.”

I take out two more scissor crabs as I hear the sisters talk, and the smoke of the hundredth monster is blown into the air.

“Oh, it’s coming right away.”

Ayane and Aira don’t have enough Luck to see the smoke, but Aki and Maki can see it faintly. I guess the smoke really is dependent on whether or not you’ve poured enough into Luck to be able to summon them.

But then, the smoke wells up right there.

“It’s spawning here! Aki, Maki.”

““Yes!””

After seeing both get away, Ayane and I get ready to fight.

“Adamantine Armor III.”

“Adamantine Armor!”

We don’t know what’s coming, so it makes us feel even safer to have the armor on from the start.

And then, it appears.

It looks like a completely blue scissor crab, but it’s also swollen all over. The scissors are now big enough to easily grab a human too, and the shell looks abnormally rugged. It all makes it look tough.

It’s about two meters tall and three meters wide. I feel like this one’s strong…

“Gigigih.”

“Appraisal.”
