“Next, Riding… How is this going to help?”
“Master, are you thinking about horses?”
“Eh? Is that wrong?”
The word riding does bring up the image of a horse…
“No, not wrong per say, but it is said to be all-purpose. If you can ride something, there is no limit to what you can target.”
“So…”
“Yes. You can ride not just standard animals, but monsters as well.”
I’ve heard of something like this. Skills that let you control monsters, and special skills to make contracts to make them do what you want.
Apparently these are relatively easy to come by in a dungeon in another country, so upper class people and some adventurers even have them as pets.
It feels like a dream, but apparently there are limits about getting these out of the country.
Apparently this Riding skill allows the holder to easily ride around on any monster.
…Well, you still have to get it to like you and obey you. Am I going to get a skill like that from Level Gacha? Or maybe a treasure chest?
“Master, needless to say, its scope also goes beyond animals and monsters.”
“Hn?”
“You may also use its effect to ride women.”
“Hey, maid.”
“You may use me any time.”
She says with a nice smile. Does she want me to ride her…?
This facet of hers pops up sometimes, but I feel like she has masochist inclinations, or she likes to be pressed hard…
“M-me too…”
“You don’t have to copy her, Ayane.”
“Y-yes…”
“Ahem, so I also have Dual-Wielding II… This will probably just improve my technical ability. I haven’t actually used it yet, but just holding a sword makes me feel like my senses with them have been sharpened.”
Switching from the bow to a sword really makes me feel like my aim has been sharpened.
“Lastly, True Appraisal Lv3… Will I see a change if I look at different things? True Appraisal.”
I look at things in turn.
Ayane and Aira. The special equipment they have. Ayane’s staff. The flowers on the ground under their feet, the dungeon walls, and even the sky.
But I don’t see any changes. All I see is the emptiness of magic energy being consumed.
“Nothing changed…”
“Then let us look at something else.”
“Was there anything else…”
“Yes, for example… Lady, cast Fireball.”
“?? Okay. Fireball!”
Ayane casts it, and stops it over her head.
“Hnn?”
“Master, try casting True Appraisal on it.”
“On the magic!?”
“Yes. If you saw no changes on people, equipment, and weapons, I think you should try it on skills next. However, since skills are not visible, I figured it could work on something brought upon by skills. Try it.”
“Please look at the bang!”
“…All right, I’ll try. True Appraisal.”
Name: Fireball
Grade: ≪Normal≫
Class: Fire Magic Lv1
Description: Consumes three magic energy when used. For every hundred Intelligence the user has, another Fireball can be used at the same time.
“Uwa, I really can see it…”
“That’s great darling! That information about being able to use multiple ones at the same time was only discovered a few years ago!”
“Really? So I just read information that took years to find? It really is useful then.”
“Yes. Seeing this information is unexpected, but this skill should be quite useful.”
Ayane throws the Fireball somewhere, and jumps at me with uncontrollable excitement on her face.”
“Darling! Can you try it on your combat skills next?”
“Ou, right… Then… Purple Lightning Arrow.”
Name: Purple Lightning Arrow
Grade: ≪Unique≫
Class: Combat skill ≪bow≫
Description: Consumes two hundred magic energy when used. Boosts the user’s Physical Strength, Dexterity, and Agility.
“It spends so much magic energy!”
“I figured from its destructive power, but if it is unique, that makes sense.”
“That’s great darling~.”
Ayane comes over with a huff, and I ask a question while patting her head.
“By the way, what’s this grade I’ve been seeing?”
“Things acquired in dungeons such as skills and artifacts have a rarity scale. And there are also artifacts that judge this rarity.”
“Eh…”
“But these artifacts are quite rare, so they are only found in various countries’ headquarters of associations, or auction houses. You are perhaps the only individual that can see grades.
Also, these artifacts can see grades, but not descriptions like your skill. Currently, we learn effects through research, or by contrasting reports offered by adventurers such as yourself.”
“I see… Well, that makes sense.”
So skills and items have rarity. Well, I figured they did, but I thought they were assigned by people, not the dungeons. Between this and that other thing that was called a delicacy, I feel like there is some sort of will at play here…
“…Hn? Did you say auction houses have them?”
“Yes. All skills and items are checked, so the grade is publicized along with their names. You have never been curious about this, master?”
“…Not really.”
So everything I’ve shipped had a public grade too?
…I never noticed. I should pay more attention to that stuff.
“You basically shut out all information you don’t care about, master. But it’s fine, we will support you on that side of things.”
“I’ll do my best!”
“Thank you… But I didn’t see a grade when I looked at your equipment.”
“These special outfits? They are not dropped items, they were made outside with those materials.”
“Then your weapons…”
Name: Parazonium
Grade: ≪Legacy≫
Weapon level: Forty-nine
Name: Life Steal
Grade: ≪Unique≫
Weapon level: Forty-three
“All I can see is that they’re great. By the way, what grades are there?”
“Starting from the top, there are Phantasm, Legendary, Legacy, Unique, Epic, Rare, and Normal. The higher they are, the less likely they are to be found.”
“Ooh, cool!”
Then what about my bow and spear…
Name: Magic bow ・ Kaiser Vein
Grade: ≪Rare≫
Weapon level: Thirty-eight
Description: Uses one point of magic energy to create one magic arrow. Grants bonuses to Physical Strength and Dexterity
Name: Raging Stream Trident
Grade: Epic
Weapon level: Thirty-two
Description: Allows the user to spend ten points of magic energy to use the Combat Arts skill Raging Stream Spear. Equipping it gives the user a Physical Strength bonus.
“…Hn? Kaiser Vein has a higher level but lower grade.”
“We don’t know a lot about weapon levels, since you are the only one who can see them, but I assume that is a measure of its attack power. And grade changes depending on the abilities they provide when equipped. Since the spear grants a combat skill, its grade is higher.”
“I see.”
Also, I can see a description of my bow and spear, but not Aira’s main weapon.
Is it because my True Appraisal’s level isn’t high enough? I couldn’t see Kaiser Vein’s description at level one.
Hm… It looks like there’s still a lot to uncover.
After testing it some more, I see Fire Magic and Wind magic are classified as Normal.
Bubble Magic is Rare. Spatial Magic and Elemental Magic are Epic. Also, the magic of the four elements I can use with Elemental Magic spends twice as much magic energy as normal, and has one point five times the power.
Sorry for thinking you were a waste. There’s a drawback, but since I have plenty of magic energy, it’s useful.
It’s really fun to see more information.
