The branch manager considers my suggestion, and raises her head when she has an answer.
“Very well. But it will only be made public in the branch where the rare monsters appeared. They will be used as course materials, but won’t be shown to outsiders, sent to individual devices, or recorded. Is this good?”
“Yes, that’s okay.”
“We have conference rooms we use for courses, so we can make use of one of them. If we have one day, we can turn it into a room for individual viewing, and two for teams. I will tell this to Youko as well.”
“Thank you.”
The branch manager takes a receiver, and starts contacting someone about this. Is Hana on the other side?
When she puts it down, the mood changes.
“…Is there anything you want to report to me?”
“Aira, that.”
“Yes.”
Aira takes the treasure chest out of her bag. The special one with the Hobgoblin carving.
“W-what is…!?”
“Wah, nice going Shouta!”
“Congratulations.”
“Thanks. Do you know about these treasure chests, branch manager?”
I’ve never seen such a marveled expression on the branch manager’s face, as she stares at the treasure chest. Is she casting Appraisal?”
“…Yes. But I only ever saw pictures.”
“Where?”
“Sakuya showed it to me. I’m sorry, but I have no information to tell you about this.”
Sakuya… Ayane’s mother.
She really does know about all sorts of things.
“I’ll ask at that welcome party then.”
“Amachi, watch yourself. She can be quite strong, and have you walking to her beat before you know it. I don’t know how she will lure you or coax you, but be careful.”
“I understand. So Aira, can you take photos of this treasure chest? I’m going to open it.”
“Understood.”
Aira takes photos from the front, above, and the back, before I touch it. Then the lock shines and disappears, and the chest opens on its own.
Its contents shine and fly into me, and the treasure chest disappears along with the light.
The branch manager watches all of this unfold silently, and then speaks like she was holding a lot back.
“…It seems you have been doing more than I thought.”
“Hahaha, thanks to you.”
“Fine. Amachi, are you going to go wild on the second floor next? You might as well have lunch here. I will have to clean up after that Hobgoblin rush, so take your time.”
She says before leaving. Is that really okay? This isn’t a conference room, it’s the branch manager’s office.
“It’s fine, Shouta. That’s how much mom trusts you.”
“Yes. Recharge your batteries for the second half!”
I’m not really used to this space, but Maki and Aira’s food tastes just as good, and I spend some relaxing time here.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
After we go down to the second floor, I continue hunting killer rabbits while Aira and Ayane take care of any goblins that might get in the way.
Unlike the first floor, this one is a plain and has about as many goblins as killer rabbits. Not having walls also means I can avoid unnecessary encounters.
It takes less than ten minutes for the first smoke to appear. It flies into a forest with no one in it, and a Murder Rabbit appears.

The opponent that gave me so much trouble has these stats…
I guess it makes sense that it would back then. It’s clearly a grade up.
But now…
‘Gyuu…!’
“Ayane.”
“No problem! Oh? It disappeared!?”
‘Gashi!’
It suddenly goes around the side, and I grab its horn.
This thing really is no match for me, especially with Foresight’s effect. I could do this with my eyes closed… Well, I’m exaggerating, but I might still win easily.
‘Gyuu…!’
Ayane looks at the Murder Rabbit as it struggles while I hold its horn, and it starts hopping.
“Darling, that’s amazing!”
“Now now, don’t jump, camerawoman.”
“Awawa, sorry…”
“I beat this thing back when I was weaker than it. It’s not a threat anymore.”
I say before throwing the Murder Rabbit in the opposite direction. It doesn’t land on its feet, and crashes, but it’s tough, so it keeps charging at me. It’s doing it head on, and its sides are wide open.
I felt like I might’ve died that first time, but now I actually feel bad by how much this thing is a one trick pony.
“I think it’s time.”
“Yes, it’s probably enough.”
It charges at me again, and I hit it in the brow with my mithril sword. That’s all it takes for it to fall and release smoke.
We wait seven or eight minutes, and a new prey appears.

A rabbit that’s standing on two legs and is about a hundred eighty centimeters tall appears.
‘Kikikiki…’
“This feels like it might be tougher.”
