*****

Its horn isn’t twisted this time, but looking at it more closely, I can see multiple hooks. If you try to pull that from a wound, it’s just going to make it worse.

This rabbit series really just gets more and more murderous.

‘Gyuu…!’

“Well, it’s a proper powered up one.”

“Master.”

“I know.”

Don’t get careless, right?

Well, there’s no way I can, after seeing that horn.

…Hn?

Am I the only one who gets a weird feeling from that horn?

I rub my eyes, and the Murder Rabbit that was in front of me disappears. I immediately search for its presence, and see it apparently wants to attack from the side like a normal type. Maybe it’s the effect of Assassination, but it’s better than the regular version at sneaking into blind spots.

It wants to use that sharper and more brutal horn to carve my body, but I can’t allow it.

‘Gyarin!’

I use my sword to ward off the attack, but the moment I touch the horn, a strange impact hits my whole body.

“Guh!?”

“Darling!”

“O-orah!”

‘Gih!?’

The impact shakes me, but I can’t lose sight of my target. I use the monster’s momentum and Martial Arts, and throw it far away. My Intuition is telling me I shouldn’t block with my sword, so I assume this is the right call.

Thankfully, there are no people around this field. The monster crashes into a nearby tree, and the intense noise sounds like it’s being drilled.

“What was that attack…”

“Darling, are you all right!?”

“I’m fine! Don’t step forward too much.”

“Yes!”

I look around my body, but don’t see any real wounds. Although my arms are still numb from that impact, and it makes me a little worried.

“…Master, can I block the next one?”

“Do you have any ideas? Be careful.”

“Leave it to me.”

‘Gyuuu.’

Aira steps forward, and sets her eyes on the Murder Rabbit that just got back on its feet.

‘…Gih!’

Maybe it’s the effect of Swift III, but it’s fast enough that I lose sight of it despite it being kind of far away. It’s supposedly sneaking into a blind spot of Aira’s, but she follows it like it’s nothing, and wards off its horn with her short sword.

I’m fascinated by the moves that are even more polished than mine, and before I know it, the monster smacks head first into the base of a tree. And since there was no diversion of the momentum, it’s stuck there deeper. It needs some time to pull itself out.

Still, its Constitution must be better than its stats lead to believe, because it’s fine even after crashing head first like that multiple times.

Is the Limit Break skill wholly focused on its horn or head?

“…I see.”

Aira confirms the feeling in her hands, and looks satisfied like she found the answer.

“I believe this is not a skill, but rather a special ability The impact released by its horn does not stop on what blocks it, it pierces it. We can call it piercing vibration for now.”

What Aira says makes sense. It didn’t cause damage, but it really felt like the impact pierced into my whole body.

She found the answer to what felt off to me.

“Vibration?”

“Look at its horn carefully. It seems still, but don’t you think it is actually vibrating very fast?”

“…I do.”

That’s what felt off. I noticed it because of Perception Strengthening, but now I know what it actually is.

I guess I wasn’t completely wrong to equate it to a drill… And stopping a revolving drill with a sword isn’t a good idea. That’s why Intuition was raising alarms.

…But Aira did it.

“Master, I believe we have a good grasp on its level of danger. What should we do?”

She’s talking about the filming, but it’s obvious.

“Let’s keep going until we’re used to it. We have this opportunity, so I want to keep going until I can deal with it perfectly like you. Can you show me that a couple more times?”

“Very well.”

And thus begins Aira’s hard training.

“Fuhi, I’m tired…”

I see the smoke disperse, and lay sprawled on the ground. I think this training session went on for thirty minutes, but it feels like ten times that to my body. Copying a technique sounds easy, but it isn’t when I’m actually doing it.

I just about managed to do it by making use of my Intuition and Foresight, and adding Martial Arts and Swordsmanship. And I had to basically force myself to adapt to the fact that Aira uses a short sword, and I a long sword…

Ah, my head hurts. I want sugar.

Also, I did it, but it was far from perfect. I basically followed her movements to an acceptable degree. They’re far from the beautiful moves that captivated me.

I’ll just have to keep practicing…

But I don’t want to think about that now. Or move from here.

I close my eyes, and I’m assaulted by a comfortable sense of exhaustion. And I hear praise from the girls.

“It was a short training session, but I am surprised by your ability to learn, master. If you can move like that, you will get the hang of it soon.”

“Good job darling.”

My head is raised and placed on something soft. I open my eyes, and see Ayane’s face near mine.

“Hehehe, I want to try it.”

…Ah, a lap pillow.

I extend my hand and caress her cheek, and she looks happy.

“I’m going to soothe your exhaustion.”

Thanks…”

The exhaustion is joined by a comfortable feeling, and I close my eyes as I start feeling sleepy.

“Good night, darling.”

◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇

I wake up to a sweet scent tickling my nostrils.

I slowly get up, and when I look around, I see I’m in the strange space that is the empty clearing in a forest… The spot where rare monsters spawn.

And yet, Aira took out a fancy cafe table and chairs from somewhere. It’s like she’s having a tea party in a lush garden near a house, and I’m taken aback.

And of course, there is cake and tea on the table.

…This is a dungeon, right??

“Good morning master.”

“…G-good morning?”

“Please wake the lady up. She also fell asleep while looking at your face.

I turn around, and see Ayane sleeping while sitting.

Ah, geez. She could’ve laid down too, but she diligently stuck to the lap pillow. What a cute girl.

I gently wake her up, and then take in my fill of the sugar my body is craving.
