I keep hunting hill wolves, fighting up close with swords, and from a distance with Magic Missiles. After some tests, I can confirm regular Magic Missiles have plenty of firepower.
It costs thirty magic energy, the same as the Big series, but I think that magic energy is mostly spent on usability rather than power. But still, it can take out a regular monster in one hit.
Also, the multiplier is added as a set, so if I use the three times multiplier on one, I have to use it on the other.
After checking it a few times, I can say that the three times modifier is overkill. And further testing means I hit a hundred hill wolves before I know it, spawning a powered up rare monster.

‘Aooooon!!’
‘Grrr.’
‘Gaah!’
Like the regular version, it calls underlings as soon as it appears, but there are clearly also ones that just spawned…
But that doesn’t make them any stronger. The ability to summon weak underlings might be something to watch out for, but if the skill they have is Fast Run, it means this is a downgrade from an Emperor Goblin.
“Its skills are pretty much the same despite it being stronger, and it has low Constitution. The summoning ability is tricky, but there aren’t that many of them. Ayane, Aira, let’s finish them with a quick attack!”
“Yes! Windstorm!”
“Fuh!”
Ayane activates magic, but Aira jumps out faster than that, dealing damage to the Boss Wolf and its underlings. As the rare monster falters, Ayane’s magic blows it away along with the rest.
‘Gyain!’
The Boss Wolf somehow manages to get back up after rolling, and I shoot a three times Magic Missile at it.
The Boss Wolf’s body explodes all over, and turns into smoke that disperses.

The hill wolves I assume were spawned by the rare monster’s special ability disappear with it, but the others stay. Still, there aren’t that many of them, and since they attack us without fear, we beat them down without any issues.
And now I have the third trophy of the second floor of the beginner dungeon.
“Good job, darling.”
“Mission accomplished, master. Congratulations.”
“Thank you. Well then, Aki and Maki are waiting, and it’s good timing, so how about we go back after retrieving the items?”
“Yes!”
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
“We’re back.”
“Ah, hey Shouta.”
“Welcome back.”
We enter the conference room, and even though it’s usually just Maki who comes running, Aki does it too.
I guess what happened last night really did shrink the distance between us.
I hug both, and really feel like I’m back.
“Nihihi, so how are you doing? Like I need to ask.”
“Hn, I’m feeling great.”
“I’m glad to hear it.”
We sit down, and talk about what happened this morning while having lunch. And as we talk about how we’re advancing, we end up watching the footage together.
It’s a really peaceful time, until we suddenly hear a knock on the door.
“It’s me. Can I come in?”
“Yes.”
“Thank you.”
The branch manager comes in, and sits on the opposite side like always.
“So you’re checking the footage. This rare monster is… The second rare monster in the hill wolf line?”
“Yes. It’s relatively strong, so it was good practice.”
“Practice… I guess you did get those stats rather quickly. It makes sense for your body and mind to be unable to keep up…”
That one word is enough for the branch manager to grasp what I’ve been thinking about.
She looks like she’s pondering something, but then stops.
“If there is anything I can do to help with that, say so. But I came here because I need to ask something before tonight’s meeting.”
Then I guess… It’s about the skills, like I talked with the girls last night.
My skill inventory… Or rather, Aira’s bag, is a mess.
If I just dump it all in auction, everyone taking part will run out of money. The first request is still on the table, but when I asked the girls about maybe asking for another one, a meeting was suddenly called.
It’s funny to think that it’s being held at my convenience.
“Can you tell me what skills you have in stock, Shouta?”
Everyone’s eyes are on me. They don’t actually know, but then again, neither do I.
We should ask the person managing them.
“Aira.”
“Should I list them all?”
“Yes. There’s no need to hide. At least not that I know of.”
“Then excuse me…”
Aira moves our boxed lunches to a corner of the table, with our help. Then she starts placing skills on the table one after the other.
