Level Gacha ~ It turns out the dump stat 『Luck』 is the most important – Roll 153 – Checking the golems’ ecology

We keep walking through the desert, towards the red dots shown on Automatic Mapping.

Walking here isn’t that different from walking on the beaches of the second floor of the Heart Dungeon.

They’re heavy, multiple individuals attack at once, they have high defense, strong attacks, and are fought in a place with bad footing. Looking at it this way, golems and scissor crabs have a lot of similarities. And they can both be easily defeated with a bow.

As we keep walking, golems start to show themselves, probably because they can hear our footsteps. Now that I’m looking at them more closely, I can see that they’re not lying down like they’re taking a sand bath, or buried in the sand in the first place. It’s just that the core is buried in the ground.

When they detect an enemy, they gather sand around them to take the form of a golem. That’s why they die by slowly running out of power, and why they can’t die instantly like a living being like a scissor crab. This means that even if I get an instant kill with the bow, the other golems around it still wake up.

But that’s only an issue for me, because I have Automatic Mapping and I’m always aware of where enemies are. Normally, it would be hard to get the jump on them.

As I think that, the closest golem gets in front of me, its arms change shape into something like a hammer, and it swings down.

“Whoa.”

Bam!

I try blocking with one sword. I see, that’s their power.

“It’s about on par with a first floor’s Hobgoblin’s Super Strength.”

“Is that so? Then they should be no problem to a shield wielding adventurer around level twenty.”

I keep blocking with the mithril sword, and use Ghost to pierce its shining weak point. That’s enough for smoke to be released from the golem core, and the golem turns into sand.

“Apparently they’re not a problem up close either. Let’s keep hunting them, but keep filming just in case.”

“Yes!”

“I will retrieve the items.”

◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇

I call them out by walking, take the initiative to attack them, and then notice something. It feels like their range of detection extends from the first golem to the last.

Well, if we attack them first, that’s because they’re exploding.

According to Ayane, their explosions happen because the power used to create the golem form has nowhere to go. And sure enough, the ones that are destroyed after standing up as golems don’t explode, no matter how the core is destroyed.

It’s easier to lure them and attack preemptively, but then the drop of the first one is buried in the sand.

Although Aira still diligently picks them up, so she’s covered in sand before I know it.

“…Sorry.”

“No problem, this is my job.”

“I guess I should’ve said this earlier, but you don’t have to pick up the ones in the sand…”

“Master, do you know the market price of golem cores?”

“Eh, no…”

“Fifty thousand each.”

“Isn’t that easy money then!?”

“They are valuable resources that are not often found outside of significantly difficult dungeons. These cores come from the lowest golems, but they are still rare, and they have a price to match.”

“…I don’t know the drop rates, but I imagine the price is going to drop in a few days.”

“Yes. So far at least, it’s been a hundred percent, so it’s a higher drop rate than Fast Run. I think our juniors are going to make a good bit of money. Although that might come with danger too.”

They can be hunted easily with long range attacks, and if they have one member specializing in using a shield, they can beat them even if they’re facing them directly. And I don’t know what the exact rate is, but the drops are valuable.

I think the second floor is going to be booming.

We need to make sure to film the rare monster, because all that golem hunting is going to result in rare monster spawns if they’re… Unlucky.

“Ah, master, that was the hundredth.”

“Whoa.”

I take out the remaining golems with my bow, and see the smoke go. It wells up like always, and heads towards a rocky mountain. It’s not very fast, so we head there while I look at the map.

“Can you see the smoke?”

“I can’t!”

“I assume with less than ten Luck, we don’t fulfill the conditions.”

“I see.”

We keep running until the smoke suddenly stops at the side of the rocky mountain, and starts expanding.

What emerges from it is an over three meter tall giant made of stone.
