I go back to the front line, and see two smokes welling up, and two dispersing. Aira quickly collects the items so they don’t get in the way.
“Master, how much Luck do you have now?”
“I just went over three thousand.”
“I see. So with three thousand, half evolved…”
Evolved?
I guess most monsters like rare II are very close to whatever came before them. I’ve been thinking of them as different things, but thinking of them as evolutions doesn’t seem too far off the mark either.
“Aira, do you still have armor left?”
“Yes, two uses.”
“I wanted to drink water, so I erased it.”
“How is your Magic Power doing?”
“I leveled up a lot, so it’s full!”
“I see. Put it up again just in case.”
“Yes.”
Both cast Adamantine Armor III again, and I see darkness emerging from the smoke out of the corner of my eye. In a second, the world is covered in deep black.
“!?”
“Eh!?”
We weren’t attacked, or felt any impact. Also, there’s a deep black around us, but it’s not like we lost our vision completely. I can see the shining armor around me, and just barely see the other two’s as well.
I feel relieved, knowing they’re still here, even if I can’t see them.
“Ayane, is this a status condition?”
“I don’t know, but I can try to lift it. Circle Cure Recovery!”
Like before, I see a faint light, but it soon disappears.
It looks like this can’t be treated.
“No good?”
“Auu. Maybe my Healing Magic level isn’t high enough.”
“Master, can you take three steps forward?”
“Hn? Ah.”
Bam!!
“Uoh!?”
The moment I move, I feel an intense impact on my barrier that peels it off.
“An enemy attack. You have a lot of Magic Power master, so please act as bait until we can figure out how to deal with this.”
“A maid treating her master roughly uh?”
Well, I suppose I am the guy for the job… And I’ll take off the sunglasses, since I don’t think they’ll help me find what’s supposed to be a black enemy in the dark.
My vision isn’t used to the dark yet, and while I squint, I cast Adamantine Armor III again, since I’m pretty sure all three layers have been peeled off. This skill spends two hundred Magic Power, so that’s pretty steep, but with its synergy with the Magic Energy Super Recovery Lv1 skill, I tend to feel kind of invincible. I don’t know everything about Super Recovery, but since it’s the compressed version of Magic Energy Recovery LvMAX, I should be getting at least ten points every fifteen seconds. That means I can cast it again every five minutes… At least normally.
“I’m gonna run out of gas if they keep peeling it off.”
I don’t want to stand here doing nothing, so I swing my swords around a few times, and hit something. It’s like I cut something soft. I think I touched a tentacle the enemy is stretching.
I feel like what I’ve learned so far is that their attacks are consistent.
They use their attacks to tackle or crush, and three or four tentacles to attack enemies that are far away like whips. They seem like they’re still a bit far away, considering how they clashed against the barrier, and the feeling I got when I hit one with my sword.
I don’t think I dealt much damage by slashing a tentacle, and they have Automatic Healing III anyway, so they regenerate quickly. At this rate, it will only keep getting worse…
“Flashlight!!”
Then I hear Ayane yell that, and a light emerges behind me like the sun came up.
The darkness around us is lifted, and I see two giant black slimes wriggling, with their bodies undulating like they hate the light.

But if she used two, that means she couldn’t deal with Dusk Magic Lv2 at the same level. That sounds terrible, considering they’re opposites.

Now that we can see them, they’re not scary. Let’s take them out one at a…

What happens to the experience when I take down two rare monsters at the same time? I’ve done that with weak monsters, but those don’t make me level up that easily, so I don’t know.
Now that I have this rare opportunity, and I’m no longer scared of these things, I might as well try it.
I tell Ayane and Aira, and switch places with Aira. And I try to recreate what I did yesterday.

I chant the skill’s name, and it appears again. It’s not just another form of Purple Lightning Arrow, I can feel Great Strength III, Super Strength IV, Adamantine Strength II, and Power Charge activating automatically.
“Aira!”
“Yes!”
Aira expertly uses her short sword and Wind Magic to push them away, lining them up in front of me.
“Fire!”

The two slimes are pierced and crash against a wall. Their bodies tremble, and smoke comes out of them.
