The liquid that flows from the egg looks really viscous as it slowly spreads on the ground. It shines with a rainbow light, and looks less like slime and more like combustible oil.
“Master, lady, be careful. This is a true monster.”
Aira looks serious. Does she know the power behind this liquid?
The liquid isn’t all out yet, but can I check it now?
“True Appraisal.”

Dungeon boss.
That’s a phrase I haven’t seen before, but it’s easy to understand. This is the strongest monster in this dungeon. And seeing the Agility value suddenly makes me realize that they’re all multiples of seven hundred seventy-seven.
These values warrant caution. They easily surpass the Emperor Goblin that was powered up by all those General Goblins, and it has the V version of the Physical Resistance that was already softening attacks quite a bit. And then there’s the Chaos Magic I don’t know, and the Limit Break I know very well from powered up monsters.
That’s why Aira is being cautious. We need to attack with full force right from the start.
As we keep watching, the liquid stops pouring out, gathers in one place, and transforms into a giant slime.
It’s six meters tall and wide.
“Let’s give it all we got!”
““Yes!!””
Jiggle jiggle!!
We hold our weapons ready, and the slime expands its body, shooting rainbow liquid around. It’s like a shotgun shooting in all directions, and it’s hard to dodge the things that are about the size of a regular slime, so it crashes against my armor more than once.
Fsshhhh.
The slime’s body seems to be made of something very acidic, so one hit from that will probably do a lot of damage.
“Darling! These are all monsters!”
As Ayane says, the slime falling on the ground all has a mind of its own, as it continues to try to jump at us.
“Kuh! True Appraisal!”

“Watch out, they’re all on par with rare II!”
Clink!
“Kyah!”
“Kuh!”
We’re distracted by the smaller ones, and the boss attacks our armor with tentacles from afar.
I want to finish the boss quickly, but the small ones are really in the way. I need to forget about experience and the low level bonus, and do something about them.
“Ayane and I will start with the small fry! Aira, do your best to attract the boss’ attention!”
“Understood!”
“I’ll use my new magic! Storm Formation! Mix Hurricane!!”
Storm Formation is something she can use with Wind Magic Lv7 after hitting fifteen hundred Intelligence. It’s a support spell that eliminates friendly fire by making the target immune to the caster’s Wind Magic.
Mix Hurricane is something she can use with Wind Magic Lv8 after hitting two thousand Intelligence. The effect centers on the caster, and creates a giant hurricane she can control at will. If used as is, it will hurt not only friendlies, but the caster too.
The hurricane lifts all the rainbow slimes and cuts them.
It has a wide area of effect and a lot of power, but their high stats mean it doesn’t quite finish them. But it does weaken them and gathers them in one place.
“Darling, go ahead!”
“Yes! Purple Lightning Arrow!”
I fire my finishing move at the slimes that are clumped together and ragged after spinning.
The slimes are scattered again, being flung away with a sound that’s like balloons popping, and turn to smoke.
“All right! Oh…?”
I’m not getting a level up. They dropped items, so they should have been defeated.
I’m level eight, so if something that strong isn’t making me level up, they must not give experience to begin with.
“Is it because they were not summoned, but separated from the boss?”
No, let’s think about that later. We need to help Aira.
“Thanks for waiting, Aira!”
“Are you okay?”
“It is a monstrosity when you judge it by its stats, but it is more a creature of strength than skill. A lot of its magic is very direct as well, so I could have kept it busy for longer, if that was all.”
Aira has the agility of an acrobat, so she can keep dodging tentacles just as they’re about to hit. After spreading all those slimes, the main one has shrunk to about three meters.
“But my attacks lack the power to finish it, so by all means.”
“Leave it to me! Thunder Arrow. And Asura!!”
“Prism Laser!!”
‘!!?’
Ayane fires Prism Laser multiple times while I use Power Charge. This magic has a fixed chance to cause the dazzle status effect on its target, but it doesn’t look like it hurts us.
After a few lasers pierce its body, it looks like the status effect has triggered. The boss is swinging its tentacles around randomly.
“Master!”
“Finish it!”
“Yes. Go!”
Thunder Arrow hits the boss, and its upper half flies away. The lower half is left twitching, but it’s not turning into smoke yet, so is it not dead…
But it’s at least on death’s door, so I ready another Thunder Arrow.
“That was incredible power, darling.”
“It really does become quite powerful with the effects of the skills added.”
Great Strength II multiplies Physical Strength by roughly two.
Super Strength IV multiplies Physical Strength by roughly three.
Adamantine Strength II multiplies Physical Strength by roughly three.
Asura multiplies Physical Strength by roughly four.
Apparently it adds them all up, meaning it carries nine times the original Physical Strength. Then you add the effect of Power Charge… Yes, truly frightening.
As I take this in, the wriggling upper half of the boss loses its strength, and a lot of smoke escapes its body, that disperses. I don’t need this last shot.
