Even if I have the branch manager’s approval, even if it’s the branch where my exclusives work, even if I’m rank A, every time I go to the dungeon, I need to declare I’m entering the dungeon and get a certificate.
And so, we all leave the house together, but Aki and Maki enter the association from the back, and the rest of us from the front.
And as I pass through the entrance for the first time in a while…
“Hey, aren’t they…”
“Eh? That armor, that maid outfit…”
“Where did I…”
“The videos! They were the ones fighting in those videos!”
“Uwa, they are. Then…”
“No doubt about it. That’s the Rare Monster Hunter!”
“Ooh!!”
“Wow, it’s really him!”
“Is his break over?”
“That was pretty short. Did he actually rest?”
We were away from the 525 branch for just a few days, but… Apparently people know my face and Aira’s from the videos. Conversely, since Ayane was the point of view in those videos, no one recognizes her. Although some people make the connection that she was in charge of filming, because they see her with us.
Also, Ayane is a hundred forty-six centimeters tall, so pretty short. It’s easy to reach that conclusion because the point of view in those videos was so low.
“This is quite the flip-flop from these crude people.”
Says Aira quietly. Well there are plenty of people there who insulted me in the beginning, but whatever. Envy, respect, jealousy. It wasn’t that long ago that I wanted that, but now I’m just interested in seeing what’s next in the dungeons.
“It’s fine. They won’t bother us in the dungeon.”
“Yes, that is the kind of person you are, master.”
“Of course he is.”
“Let’s go meet up with the others and get permission to go in.”
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
Newbie adventurers watch us from afar on the first floor, and we hear shrill and deep cheers on the second floor. Some people who clearly aren’t equipped for the beginner dungeon also shout out to us. I’m a little surprised by how famous the name Rare Monster Hunter and our faces have become.
Those last people I mentioned are definitely here after rare II monsters, but… Do they have the Luck?
I learned in yesterday’s party that some adventurers are aware that Luck is what triggers rare monster spawns. But it also seemed like aside from the teams of my brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, not many adventurers are aware that one person needs to hunt a hundred of the same monster in a row to enter that lottery.
After all, unless you’re purposefully doing it, it’s hard for one person that’s a part of a team to hunt a hundred of the same monster. Also, not many people have the Luck to guarantee a rare monster spawn after a hundred monsters, so it only tends to happen in days long expeditions where people keep fighting for a long time, and just happen to meet the conditions.
I wonder how many adventurers here know the real method… Maybe none.
“What are we doing today, darling?”
“Hunting a powered up golem is going to take time, so let’s leave it for the afternoon. I want to see what happens when you drag a rare II away.”
“Understood. Which ones?”
“All of them… Is what I want to say, but two will do. Let’s start with goblins.”
“Understood. Lady.”
Aira gets down to one knee as always, but Ayane doesn’t do what she always does.
“Aira, I want to walk on my own from now on.”
“Lady?”
“My stats have gone up plenty. And I don’t want to be a burden, I want to be a good wife, so I need to be able to move better.”
Ayane says with her chest puffed out. Aira is too moved for words.
It’s true, we have been fighting more opponents that even give Aira trouble. And we should do something about how she always has her hands full any time there’s an intense attack.
I think Ayane has something else in mind too. Azure Mist said that the more they level up, the harder it is to have an unhealthy body.
Still, I’d hate to be a wet blanket when Ayane is so motivated, so let’s just watch over her.
“You heard her Aira. Give us the spare Fast Run and Swift.”
“Very well. We have no Swift in stock, but we have Fast Run III.”
“That then.”
“Thank you!”
“Let’s go then.”
“Yes!”
“Leave the drops to me.”
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
“That’s a hundred.”
“Understood.”
We’ve been avoiding places with both goblins and killer rabbits, but now Ayane can move ahead and take out the hindrances. That means we hit the hundred mark in just ten minutes.
People’s mobility and destructive power really go up when they can take out monsters by themselves. And Ayane isn’t all about magic now, like when I first met her. She now has Physical Strengthening Lv4, Great Strength II, Super Strength II, and Adamantine Strength. And with the effects of Command and her high level, she has two hundred fifty-eight Physical Strength even without those skills.
An average vanguard adventurer would have to be level thirty to fifty to reach that value. There’s no way her blows are going to be weak when she swings her staff, so she can take out killer rabbits in one hit.
“Darling, someone is here.”
“Oh?”
We chase the smoke, and see a group resting at the spawn point.
…Are they taking a break? Or here to steal rare monsters?
