Even with Swift, Enki is still a pile of rock. It moves quickly in battle, but that’s different from running like the wind through paths. And so, we match its speed and walk back leisurely.
Enki seems to feel bad about our slow speed, but if we really were in a hurry, we could ask it to shrink to about fifty centimeters and carry it back. But it’s important to show to people around us that Enki is with us.
As expected, the appearance of a human-sized golem causes a stir among adventurers, but no one runs away. I’m walking in front with Aira with Enki behind us, and it’s carrying Ayane on its back to really hammer home the fact that it won’t attack people.
Anyone who would deem it a threat and attack after seeing this would be the crazy one.
Right after leaving the dungeon, we’re called by the guard at the door, and while people look and some even point, there isn’t really any trouble.
Well, the branch manager was called the moment we arrived, and she’s standing waiting for us with Aki and Maki… Yes, I’m pretty sure she’s half angry and half exasperated.
“Amachi? Please explain.”
“Yes, this is our new friend Enki!”

Enki puts Ayane down, and greets them with a deep bow.
“Is that a monster?”
“No. Appraisal gives a different result than when you use it on monsters, right?”
“…True. It doesn’t show stats. Its skills are quite powerful, but… It’s fine. It’s a golem core IV, but I think we can explain it as a golem created by Amachi.”
“Yes, that would be perfect.”
“Ooh…”
I hear the voices of people who sound impressed.
Their eyes had fear in them, but they’re calmer now that they know Enki is something other than a monster.
“There were reports of an over five meter tall giant. Is that true?”
“Yes. It can change to a maximum of about six meters. So a little taller than that rare II.”

“I see, I understand. I will make sure our adventurers know that this golem is with you, and that they do not mistakenly attack it. Do you have footage of it, like combat footage?”

We enter the same conference room as always… And while Enki is my size, it’s too brawny, and has trouble getting through the door. But we’re finally away from others’ eyes.

Aki and Maki hug me, while the branch manager looks at Enki with great interest.

“A completely autonomous golem… How strong is it?”
“It didn’t fight it directly, but probably stronger than a Giant Rock Golem.”

“Are you bringing it back home?”
“Yes, Maki. But it has to shrink to the size of the others, because we can’t have it walking around outside until it’s well known.”
“Others…? Aki and Maki, you don’t seem surprised to hear that…”
The branch manager stares at them.
“He was talking about this.”
“Aren’t they cute?”
Aki and Maki pull out their smartphones to show pictures. Come to think of it, since they’ve been looking after River and the others, they’ve been doing stuff like changing their clothes.
“Oh dear, they are cute.”

That reminds me, they told me that since they spent a lot of time working in the association, they didn’t have pets. But since the golems just need to be fed magic stones and have the ability to defend themselves, they can even go in the dungeon. And since they don’t consume a lot if they don’t fight, it seems like they can go weeks without eating. They’re all very fuel-efficient.

“Well, I’m sure Amachi would rather just explore dungeons. Don’t worry, I will make use of the footage from today. But make some time after your dungeon exploration tomorrow.”
“Yes, thank you. Do you want me to make you a golem as a thank you?”
“Really!? I would love it!”
She’s extremely happy, so that’s nice.
I can make earth and water golems, and she wants a water one. Her daughters really take after her.
