But first, we need to get ready to fight.
Enki looks imposing and strong, but we are mostly going to fight groups. The scope is going to be bigger, meaning more attacks flying around.
And so, I need to make sure Enki’s defense is in order.
“Enki, three meters heavy armored form.”
‘Goh!’
Enki shrinks to about half the size, but uses the rest of the rock to create armor and a big shield. In this form, Enki doesn’t need a sword or spear. When it holds a riot shield with both hands like this, it’s a true iron wall guardian deity.
And since it doesn’t have weapons, it can just hit with the shield.
“Perfect. You changed form exactly as I thought.”
‘Goh!’
The girls clap at Enki’s new figure.
“I was wonderin’ what you two were doing together.”
“Fufu, it was worth the wait.”
“It looks cool!”
“Enki is a proper weapon like this. It is a very appropriate form.”
‘Gogo!’
“Well then, we can’t stay by the entrance forever, so should we go out first?”
We exit the gate of the simple fortress, and find ourselves in a battlefield straight away. There are teams here and there fighting goblins.
They probably led groups that spawn around this area here. That way, they don’t have to worry about what’s behind them.
“Oh oh, it’s a party.”
“Most people fighting here are new to the fourth floor. They come here or the third floor once they find they don’t level up on the second floor anymore, because they can get help if they need it.
But there are penalties for bringing monsters to the grounds.”
“I guess it being out of bounds doesn’t mean it’s gonna be a safe area.”
“Yes.”
“But we don’t need to fight here. First… Let’s go around the outer circumference. We can hunt the main goblins while exploring.”
This place has good visibility, so maybe I can have the map filled by tomorrow.

We’ve been walking forward for twenty minutes.
We’re close to the edge of the map but still, we haven’t encountered any goblins.
“How wide is this place?”
“Probably a little, compared to the second floor.”
“And there are only two types of monster?”
“It’s because it’s the fourth floor. The further down you go, the wider the floor gets. With some exceptions.”
“Eh…”
So the dungeon gets wider the more you explore it? That just means the fun also increases. Unless it’s like the third floor.
“Anyway, we can’t see the corner of the map yet. Maki, are there goblins settlements like in the high rank dungeon?
“Yes, there are. But the high rank dungeon had more than ten, and there are only four here.”
“Over there, there were things like totems that symbolized them. I want to check if that’s where rare monsters spawn. Are there totems here too?”
“I’m sorry, I don’t know for sure, but I don’t think so…”
Aki then speaks with a cheerful tone to cover for Maki, who looks down.

As we talk, a squadron of goblins appears in front of us. Eight of them, right in our path. Three fighter goblins, two ranger goblins, two knight goblins, and one general goblin.
I’ve seen a few of these groups from afar, but they were pretty sparse, so I feel like the monster density isn’t as high as in the high rank dungeon. Monsters here are weaker both in individual strength and depth of their groups.
I guess it makes sense for the first floor of the high rank dungeon to be somewhat difficult.
“We can’t avoid them. Should we take them down?”
“Do you want help?”
“No, there’s no need.”
I step forward, and the goblins notice me.
‘Guge?’
‘Gugya!’
Hum, I’m pretty sure these general goblins don’t have Command.

Ah, yes yes. Those are the stats. Just like Aki and Maki told me.
So the others… Yes, they all have similar stats, and are a little weaker than the general goblin.
As for skills, the fighters have Sword Knowledge Lv1, the rangers have Pursuer, and the knights have Iron Wall.
I’ve seen Pursuer, but not Sword Knowledge. It feels weaker than Swordsmanship…
