Level Gacha ~ It turns out the dump stat 『Luck』 is the most important – Roll 37 – Super stingy tastes like disgrace

“Let me help, Aki.”

“Sorry, I fell behind.”

“No, I got too into it, fighting fast with Swift II, and kind of forgot to stop.”

I’m now handing Aki the dropped items I’m collecting. I ended up clearing one more forest than I was expecting, and up with four forests littered with items. Thankfully, this is a corner of the map, so there isn’t anyone else around.

Also, I’m up to ninety-three fluff bugs now. There were about twenty in each forest, so I’ve almost reached my objective of taking down a hundred.

But there are two things I wasn’t expecting. First, these fluff bugs are worth even less experience than slime. I didn’t level up even after taking down so many. I’m at level eight now.

Second, fluff bug dupion silk isn’t a guaranteed drop. Looking at the general drops and their probability, leads me to the shocking conclusion that it drops about eighty percent of the time.

Even with all this Luck, it’s still not a hundred percent…

The baseline value is probably around zero point one, or two. It really is super stingy.

“That’s all of it.”

“Yes, ninety-three minuscule magic stones, and seventy-five fluff bug dupion silk. A big haul.”

“Yes, and they’ve started respawning in the first forest. Aki, can you go call Maki?”

“Sure, but why?”

“So she can see a rare monster appearing.”

“Ah, you like it too, don’t you? Sure, we’ll watch from a short distance.”

I hunt six of the fluff bugs that respawned, give the dropped items to Aki, and signal.

They signal back, and I take down the hundredth monster.

“Come!”

But contrary to my expectations, the smoke doesn’t well up, and just dissipates.

“!?”

That’s the first time a rare monster doesn’t appear, so I can’t hide my bewilderment.

First, I wonder if I miscounted, but they told me how many minuscule magic stones dropped, so that can’t be it.

Did we pick up a minuscule magic stone that someone else forgot? No, that can’t be it. According to them, the dungeon swallows any dropped item that stays in it for thirty minutes. The same goes for rare monsters too. If they don’t find an enemy for an hour, they spontaneously disappear. Human bodies on the other hand, don’t disappear.

This is most likely why people can’t look into what happened when they find bodies.

…But basically, a rare monster failed to appear.

I go back to the others too, who catch on to what’s going on by how dejected I look.

And they snuggle up to me without saying anything.

◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇

“Are you feeling better?”

“…Yes, thanks.”

“Yes, you’re looking less pale. Let’s get something to cheer you up then.”

“…?”

“Geez, did you forget, Shouta!? Packed lunches!”

“Is it that time already, Aki?”

Come to think of it, I am getting hungry.

“Let’s lay a sheet.”

“Sit over there Shouta.”

Say Maki and then Aki, and I do as they say. When did they get everything ready?

Was I feeling that down that I didn’t notice? But their consideration really does help. I can be more optimistic thanks to them.

As they gallantly look after me, I get thinking again. Why did a rare monster not spawn this time?

1 – Not enough Luck to make it a sure thing

This is very possible, considering how it was with slime. Even a normal dropped item was not a sure thing either, so there’s a good chance the rate for making a rare monster spawn is even lower.

2 – Rare monsters don’t spawn here in the first place

This could be it too. I mean, I only know three dungeons in the first place, this one included, and there are about a thousand of them worldwide.

It’s hard to say for certain that the method for spawning rare monsters that I’ve only checked in two dungeons works in every dungeon.

This is a rare dungeon, where its monsters don’t feel the thirst to kill humans. I can’t ignore that possibility.

3 – There’s another condition to make rare monsters spawn, other than defeating a hundred normal ones in a row

This is worth considering too, but I need more information about the whole first floor if I’m going to pursue this theory. It would take time to test it too. I should consider number one first, and if it still doesn’t work, number three in a few days.

“I really do like Shouta’s face when he’s thinking about dungeons.”

“Fufu, me too.”

“We’re so alike.”

“It’s always been like that. We’ve always liked the same things.”

“Sharing is caring.”

“Yes.”

I don’t notice either their conversation or their heated looks, as I silently eat and think about how to keep testing it.

Ten minutes later, I finish the meal, and drink tea.

“Ahh…”

“What do you want to do next, Shouta? If you need help, we’re here for you, but we can go back to the association if we’d get in the way.”

“I feel the same way.”

“Eh? Well… I was thinking about hunting two or three hundred more. They respawn pretty quickly too, so can I ask you to pick up the dropped items?”

“Leave it to us.”

“Yeah, don’t worry about it.”

They really are going along with everything I want today.

And so, I rely on them as I keep hunting hunting hunting!!
