Level Gacha ~ It turns out the dump stat 『Luck』 is the most important – Roll 41 – Is this unpaid overtime?

An unknown monster appeared in what’s supposed to be a safe dungeon. When Youko receives this information, she confirms it with Maki before checking the phone.

“When did it appear?”

“Was anyone nearby?”

“Not even one person, just the three of us. And our Shouta here beat it by himself.”

Youko peeks at me, and faces Maki immediately after.

“I understand how you feel, and I’m sure you have questions, but please look at this first. We recorded it when it appeared.”

“All right…”

Youko silently checks the phone, and sees a few photos and a video.

The photos show the smoke that appeared before the monster spawned, and the dropped items. For some reason, the smoke also looks transparent to me. Is it because they’re photos? But it still looks like there’s something there.

The video shows my fight with the monster from beginning to end.

Yes, she really got me in the video.

Apparently, even though it’s kept as an internal document, they can edit the information of the adventurer fighting the monster. And of course, that work is left to an exclusive.

That means it’s Maki, so I don’t have to worry about it.

“And this is the data regarding the monster, that my sister compiled.”

The stats that Aki saw are all written there.

The stats that can be seen through Appraisal Lv4 are pretty much the same as a human’s. And there are no fractions or anything, they appear to be formed by the system.

“What is this monster… This thing appeared on the first floor…”

“It’s called golden worm. I checked the archives of the association, but it’s a completely new one. However, as you can see in the beginning of the video, this monster is completely neutral until someone attacks it, or maybe until someone approaches it. I think it will be fine if one appears and no one goes near it.”

“Even if it’s not a problem, it’s so huge. If it spawns in a place with a lot of people, there’s going to panic!”

“Let’s ask a pro then. Shouta, where did this rare monster spawn?”

“Eh? Me?”

I guess I am a pro, but I wish Maki told me she was going to ask that.

“Well, in a corner of the map. Youko, do you have a map of the first floor?”

“Ah, yes. Hold on… Here.”

Unlike the one we got when we entered the dungeon, this is a perfectly accurate three-dimensional map. It’s incredible. I want it.

Would they give it to me if I asked… No, it’s probably confidential information.

“…Yes, that figures. There are open areas surrounded by forests on the four corners of this dungeon. There’s no doubt about it, this is where rare monsters spawn.”

“But that’s a problem. If we aren’t sure, we can’t keep calling customers!”

I guess so. I was the one who started this, so… I can’t just say bye, see you later.

Just because it only appeared once in two years, it doesn’t mean it won’t spawn again tomorrow, or the day after that.

“Then… When is this place open for regular customers?”

“The entrance to the association is open to the public from eight in the morning, and around seven thirty in the afternoon is when we start urging customers to leave. And eight is when we have everyone check out. It’s also open seven days a week.”

“So there aren’t any regular people around at night.”

As expected from adventurers, there aren’t any days off.

But this is no time for admiration.

“Then we have to make a rare monster spawn at a time when no one’s around. It appeared here on this side to the left, so now we have to test it on the right to this side, and to the left and right on the other side. Then we can test it close to the center, and finally right in the center. If it still spawns in a corner, that means it’s safe. If it spawns in another similar point instead, we’ll have to rethink our strategy.”

“Can you manage how rare monsters spawn?”

“Yes. Well, the method itself is a trade secret.”

Youko peeks to my left and right, and Aki and Maki both nod.

And Aki looks kind of smug.

I haven’t told them about hunting a hundred of the same monster, but they saw it in person. Even if I don’t tell them the details, I think they’ve figured it out.

“Then, can we count on you?”

“Yes. I was the one who got carried away and made it spawn.”

“…Then I’m going to have to ask you to do it. How many days will it take?”

“Minimum one day, at most about three days.”

Is all I can say, because it’s going to depend on Luck.

“That’s incredibly fast. We are talking about four of them? So… Can you do it today?”

“Then lend me a place to take a nap.”

It’s best to not waste time when it comes to this sort of thing. Sorry you two, but I’m staying over starting today.

“There is a bed for employees in the room next to this. Please rest over there. Do you need anything?”

“A light meal when I wake up. Ah… Aki, Maki, sorry it turned out like this.”

“No, I think it’s great to take responsibility.”

“Be proud. We’ll be supporting you too.”

“You aren’t going home?”

It’s past their work hours, so I figured they would…

“We can’t just leave you and go.”

“We are your exclusives. Please let us stay with you. We will also make sure to get some rest.”

“Then… Well, let’s go out on another date next time. One not in a dungeon.”

“Yes.”

“Sure.”

“See you later.”

I say as I leave the room. Then I put on the sleepwear that’s already in that room, and jump into bed.
