They’re both surprised when they see my stats and skills, but quickly accept them, and grab my arms again.
“Does this make you feel at ease?”
“Yes. You would be able to fight without a problem even in the middle floors of a beginner dungeon.”
“I’m curious about how you were able to grow so fast, but more importantly, now I know how you were able to take down that monstrosity.”
Say Maki and then Aki.
It seems like they understand how strong I’ve gotten, so they won’t be worried about me from now on.
“Amachi.”
“Ah, yes branch manager.”
Hn? It kind of feels like she’s gotten softer.
“I haven’t received the details from Youko yet, but can you tell me what happened in the Heart Dungeon?”
“Understood.”
Judging by her reaction, she really did think I was still as strong as I was at that time.
If she knew the stats of the powered up Golden Worm I fought yesterday… Actually, today, it probably wouldn’t be as much of a problem.
And so, I tell her and Hana what happened.
“A rare monster that got stronger? It makes sense that it would take time to put a report together. Yesterday’s meeting was left incomplete, so there is another one scheduled today. She is probably going to share that information there.”
I see.
“And she dealt with the rare monsters in the correct way. Don’t go out of your way to mess with them, and don’t get near. Fluff Bug drops are famous for their high value, but also for their rarity. But since there are still adventurers who go there, she along with the others are used to dealing with them… I don’t think management will be a problem.”
“What about the rewards?”
“It’s an exception. But yes, you can put what you want up for auction. But she will want to know what items are sold, so contact me when you put up items from the Heart Dungeon.”
“Understood. Well then…”
I say as I line up items I got yesterday.
Three hundred and seventy minuscule magic stones.
Five large magic stones.
One extra large magic stone.
Three hundred and thirty Fluff Bug Silk.
Twenty-one Golden Worm Seeds.
Six Golden Worm Cups.
Two Adamantine Strength skill orbs.
Two Adamantine Wall skill orbs.
Two Adamantine Armor skill orbs.
The branch manager holds her head, and Hana gives me a small applause.
And I actually left half of it there in the dungeon.
“Maki, can you handle the assessment?”
“Yes. I’ll start with the magic stones. Minuscule magic stones are worth two hundred yen, making it seventy-four thousand yen. Large magic stones are worth fifty thousand, so that would be two hundred fifty thousand. The extra large is worth three hundred thousand. That brings us to a total of six hundred twenty-four thousand yen.”
“Only Shouta would make this much from just magic stones.”
The medium magic stones that Hobgoblins and Murder Rabbits drop are worth ten thousand a piece, but of course, the price goes up as we get to the larger ones.
“Fufu, yes. Next, Fluff Bug Silk. After talking it over with Shouta, we decided to auction three sets of ten, and three sets of one hundred. They aren’t often sold individually, so they might fetch a higher price in bundles. That’s why we decided to see how they do in tens or hundreds.”
If one is worth thirty thousand, one set should be worth three hundred thousand, and the other set three million.
Yes, not bad.
“And about the Golden Seeds. They might sprout something, so Shouta will try to grow them in his house. That means we are holding off on selling them.”
“I’ll ask again, but are you sure about that?”
“Yes, they don’t seem bad, so we’ll just see how they are.”
“I will go along with your decision, Shouta.”
“And let us see what they’re like when they grow.”
“Of course.”
I don’t really know how I’ll look after them, but I’ll plant three in plant pots and water them once a day.
“Next, the Golden Cups…”
“I don’t care about decoration, so we’ll put one up and see how it does.”
“Yes, then we will put one up for five hundred thousand and see.”
This would be valuable if it was just one, but since it keeps dropping as I beat monsters…
“Hold on. We need to check if it has any strange effects attached before auctioning it.
Amachi, can the item research department buy one of these cups?”
“Research department? I’m interested too, so sure. Maki, let’s wait for their report before selling it.”
“Understood.”
And this is how we sort the items.
But now it’s time for the big one, skill orbs.
“First, Adamantine Strength. Shouta used it on himself, and these are the results.
Effective time, thirty minutes. Time until it can be used again, sixty minutes. Physical Strength is boosted two point five times while in effect. Once the effect runs out, Physical Strength is debuffed to only eighty percent for five minutes.”
“This recoil would be big if I kept fighting, but not a lot of adventurers fight long battles, so if I take a break, I can strengthen myself for a long period of time. It has a stronger effect and lasts longer than Super Strength, so I think we should start with eighty million.”
“Oh dear, Maki. That’s a very timid setup.”
“It’s because we will put two up at once. And the last skill is broken compared to the first two, so this will be pretty much the opener.”
Those two are good, but fall short compared to Adamantine Wall.
After all, the first two are meant for the vanguard, but Adamantine Armor is an invincible skill fit for anyone. Its uses are boundless.
“Next, Adamantine Wall. This skill is basically Adamantine Strength but for Constitution. It’s a tertiary Constitution skill, but considering its low cost, we should start with ten million.”
Maki says a primary Constitution skill would be worth two million, and a secondary five million. Quite different compared to Super Strength.
“Finally, a completely new skill not found in the database, Adamantine Armor. This one has a broken ability, and Shouta’s tests showed it spends fifty magic energy, and negates one attack.”
“Negates one attack!?”
“We will start at three hundred million each. Will it be a problem if we also put up two of these?”
“Understood. The next auction will be tomorrow, so it’s perfect. People will be gathering again.”
The branch manager says auctions are held every four days. Also, the ones I take part in are not national. There are four divisions in Japan, and each one hosts their own.
Apparently the regions take turns hosting them, and there are people who are crazy for them and attend different auctions every day.
That’s a bigger scale than I imagined, and they’re pretty frequent too.
“But how far can this skill negate?”
“It blocked Aki’s roundhouse kick, when I threw a rock, and my attack perfectly.”
“Roundhouse…”
The branch manager looks at Aki with cold eyes, and she acts like it’s none of her business.
“I see… If it negates your attacks, it must have a pretty good effect. We don’t know for sure if it really negates everything, but we will make a note that it negates at least an attack from an adventurer with three hundred Physical Strength. That way, no one can grumble.”
And so, the branch manager takes the initiative and gives us advice about the items that will be put up for auction.
I already thought of her as an ally, but she’s become reliable all of a sudden. I feel like I understand why Hana and Shouko respect her too.
