My Twin Sister Was Taken as a Miko and I Was Thrown Away but I’m Probably the Miko – Chapter 248 – The sister can’t move

It looks like Princess Ninaev has made some sort of decision, because she’s started working with a resolute look on her face. I’m glad to see her like that.

If Princess Ninaev is going to start trying to help her fiance, that means I might encounter more danger too. She is my guardian, so what she does might come back to me.

Back when I thought I was special, I would’ve hated the idea of what someone else did causing problems for me. I don’t really understand what’s happening with Princess Ninaev, her fiance, the kingdom of Fairytrof, and the kingdom of Migha, probably because I’m still not really doing my best to see what’s around me.

…And people probably aren’t telling me this sort of thing because I’m still a kid.

Princess Ninaev is using her influence and working for the sake of her fiance, but she’s royalty, so she can’t actually go to the kingdom next door herself.

It must be hard having this weight placed on her. I also still have the weight of being mistaken for the miko and using that position to make the country obey my selfishness.

It’s hard for me to do anything for her. If I do anything, I might just make things even more complicated for her, and I don’t have the same influence as her anyway.

Back when I thought I was special, I thought I could make anyone do what I want. People listened to everything I said. It was like that in the village too. Thinking back, it’s really surprising just how much people were willing to do what I said.

Princess Ninaev says that might be related to Lerunda’s influence too.

I don’t have any powers like Lerunda does. I look pretty, but what does that give me? Some people say beauty is power, but I have no idea how to use it.

Will I be able to use it better when I grow up? If I don’t use it well, more dangerous things might happen to me, like when I was almost kidnapped.

Well, when I told Princess Ninaev that I heard about something like this, she said she was going to warn the person I told her about.

…Isn’t there anything I can do for Princess Ninaev?

I keep feeling anxious. Even when I say I want to do something for her, all I hear in response is ‘you can relax and spend your time as you like’.

So that’s what I’ve been doing. I just stay cheerful, and people smile at me when I smile at them. I want to stay cheerful even if I do feel anxious, and try not to bother Princess Ninaev.

In the meantime, I keep looking at Princess Ninaev. She looks a little worried, so I talk to her and try to get her to smile. But then she says…

“I’m trying not to do anything excessive while helping Prince Hicked. I want to work without ruining myself, but if that happens, I want you to go somewhere else. You told me to do what I want without worrying about you but… I want to minimize the effects my actions will have on other people.”

“…I’ll do anything you want. I’ll help a lot, and if we are ruined together then so be it.”

“Thank you Alice. I’m happy to hear that, but still, not wanting to abandon Prince Hicked is my own selfish desire, so if something does happen to me, I want you to live. No, not just you, I want everyone else to be bothered as little as possible.”

Helping her fiance sounds dangerous. That’s why she’s talking to me with such a resolute tone. It sounds like one wrong move will bring her a lot of trouble.

I believe I want to help Princess Ninaev even if it means doing something dangerous, but it doesn’t look like she would let me.

I want to know all about this and work with her, but Princess Ninaev isn’t telling me everything, and won’t let me move alongside her.

I want to work with her, but I can’t, and realistically speaking there isn’t anything I can do.

All I can do is nod and say yes in response.

—The sister can’t move

(The sister wants to move alongside the princess, but can’t. All she can do is watch as the princess works to help her fiance.)
