“We could have the spirits greet your sister, if she is coming here.”
Says Mister Sileva.
Being greeted by spirits is a very special thing to elves, so it’s noteworthy that he says that’s okay.
“Isn’t being shown around the village already fun anyway? And what about serving food!?”
Says Ilkesai.
Yes, being shown around the village is probably plenty of fun in itself.
And serving food… He probably means us cooking together, because I’ve never done anything like that with Alice.
“Your sister can’t fly like you, correct? So how about letting her experience flying?”
Says Mister Villa.
I can fly with the gryphons and Scifo, and create magic wings to fly by myself, but I’m pretty sure Alice has never flown before.
Would that be fun for her?
“Pikiii, iiii. (If she is your sister, you could take her to my father.)
Says Doanea.
Would Alice like it if I took her to Mister Douroean?
There aren’t many beings as great as Mister Douroean, so it’d probably be pretty impactful!
“There is no way anyone could not be happy about being received by Miss Lerunda!! Please allow me to help as well. Anything should be good as long as Miss Lerunda is doing it.”
Says Mister Ilma.
He’s not really offering ideas, he just wants to help. He looks like he gets happy about everything I do… So he’s probably not going to be a good source of ideas to make sure Alice has fun.
“I could dance when your sister gets here. Let’s sing and dance together too.”
Says Phyto.
So she’ll show Alice her beautiful dance. I’m sure Alice will be happy to see something that pretty.
I listen to lots of different ideas from different people, and start trying to put together a plan that will make Alice happy.
◇ ◇ ◇
“…Lerunda, Alice was once regarded as the miko, but she is still someone who has only lived in countries of humans. If you don’t take that into consideration and welcome her with what is normal here in this village, she will be very surprised.”
“Yes… Lerunda, Sadda is right. If you’re going to show Alice everything here, you need to think about the order in which you will do it. Also, I don’t think this will be a problem as she is now, but we should still tell her not to talk to others about what she sees here. We don’t want that sort of thing to spread too much, or this place might be targeted.”
I came here to Miss Lan’s place while putting together my plans for when Alice arrives, and saw her talking to Mister Sadda. And so, I hear both of their opinions.
For me, life in this village is what’s normal.
There are beast people, elves, people with wings, and humans. Not to mention spirits, the gryphons and Scifo who formed contracts with me, Doanea…
That’s all normal to me, but I went to the Kingdom of Migha before, and it was nothing like this. And I saw lots of things for the first time too when I was there.
Alice is also probably going to be surprised by a lot of things when she gets here. That’s why I need to introduce things to her slowly.
And like Miss Lan said, Alice herself is not going to be a problem, but… Something might happen if she talks to other people about this place.
“Yes. I’ll tell Alice not to talk about this place too much. But she’ll probably talk to Miss Ninaev about it. That much is fine, right?”
“Yes, she will probably be fine. Especially since she is so good to Alice.”
Says Miss Lan with a smile.
“Miss Lan, I’m really happy that Alice is coming. That’s why I want to do lots of things. But if I start doing wrong things because I’m too happy, make sure you stop me.”
I’m probably getting a little carried away.
◇ ◇ ◇
I talked to Alice in the Kingdom of Migha, we’ve been sending letters, and now she’s coming to the village.
My head is kind of in the clouds, because it all feels like a dream.
All this time, Alice felt very distant to me. We never really talked, or even called each other by our names… That’s why I’m so happy.
But what if I get too carried away and do something bad? That thought crosses my mind, so I make sure to talk about it with Miss Lan.
“Of course. We adults will stop you if it looks like you’re doing something wrong. So don’t worry about it, and do what you want.”
Says Miss Lan with a smile, and I think about how blessed I am.
