“Well then, let us start the meeting about the name of the country and its flag.”
We’re gathered in the courtyard of the castle that’s under construction.
I have fun every day, seeing the castle’s construction advancing.
There are a lot of people here, but we can’t have everyone in this place. Not to mention that the meeting would be a mess if everyone was present, so only a select few are here.
That said, we discussed this beforehand, so the opinions of the people that aren’t here can be represented too.
“I will start with the names introduced as possible options.”
Says Miss Lan with a resolute expression.
There are actually too many to count, so we discuss which ones are best, and select them.
“I don’t think I can pick. They all sound lovely…”
I say to Gaius, who is sitting next to me. I’m having a tough time choosing.
“Yes, the name is important. I’m happy about my name being included though.”
“I want everyone to be represented. Was I always this indecisive?”
I wish I could just pick one, but I can’t.
It feels like I have a tough time making decisions when something happens. And since I imagine people will agree with what I pick, I can’t just pick something.
“That’s fine, I take time when I have to make a decision too. But no matter what it ends up being, it will be an important name for us.”
“Yes, very important.”
As we talk, people around us voice their opinions. When I see everyone discussing this so seriously, it really makes me feel how important this place is for them.
Eventually, we narrow it down to a few candidates.
If it was just me… I don’t think I could decide it so quickly. Things really do get settled quicker when lots of people and their opinions are involved.
It’s down to five, and we start discussing them again.
I think about it too, but again, they all sound lovely. Different people push for different names, and start saying that if they pick this name, we should do this.
There really are a lot of different people here. Different races with their own circumstances.
Mister Shuongalve’s people, the people of Rezzed, say that it’s strange and incredible for this many races to live in one place.
A lot of times, people don’t get along because of how they lived, or what race they are.
The people of Rezzed lived in a small country of the Confederation of Saff, but apparently there was a lot of trouble, despite them all being humans. It’s hard for me to imagine, but a lot happened that brought Mister Shuongalve and the others here.
Speaking of them, they’re not here right now, but Mister Shuongalve has nice things to say about this place where we live. He says he wants to do his best to make sure it stays at peace for a long time.
Yes, in this place, it doesn’t matter where people lived or what race they are. Everyone sees each other as friends.
Eventually, we settle on a name.
Leruga Nymfluol.
It has my name and Gaius’, along with words related to spirits and wings that Miss Lan looked up.
There’s me, a human, Gaius, a beast person, spirits and elves, and winged people. It’s about a place where all these people live.
It’s a little long, but I like it, because everyone thought about it.
Once the name is decided, it really feels like this is a country.
The castle is under construction, and the name is decided. The vow I made with Gaius that started as a dream is really taking form.
Everyone said the name should include mine and Gaius’, because I’m the miko, and Gaius’ wolf form is important to beast people.
I feel a big weight on me, because the name is about me. But it’s not just me, it has elements of everyone, so I feel like it will be fine because we’re all together.
“But now we need to talk about the flag.”
Everyone’s happy about the name being decided, and Miss Lan brings us back on topic.
Yes, we still have things to decide.
