“Well then, the overall composition will be Lerunda, Gaius in his wolf form, and Mister Douroean. We can also include orbs of light to represent spirits… Now for the design…”
The composition is mostly finalized while I’m thinking about Gaius.
Shinomi proposed an adult me and Gaius as a big wolf. And then a dragon right next to us and orbs of light. I feel like that will be wonderful, no matter the design.
I think it will be nice with all those elements, and I get excited to see it.
I’m not really good with art. I can draw normally, but not like people that are actually good at it.
There are others among the people deciding the composition of the flag that are like me. And they express their opinions about what they like with words.
It’s nice seeing our symbol, the flag, taking form like that.
Also, even if the composition is the same, by changing small stuff like the color or some details, the impression we get from it can change a lot. Drawings are strange like that.
It’s funny how you just change it a bit and it looks a lot different.
Of course, lots of opinions clash, but it’s not like people are upset with each other. I feel like if we didn’t all trust each other, this sort of back and forth could be really unpleasant.
Thinking about that makes me happy that we can all say what we think like this, and still get along.
Is it okay for me to be bigger than Gaius and Mister Douroean? That thought crosses my mind, but lots of people say the drawing that represents me should be big.
That said, it’s hard to tell what’s best. Everything looks wonderful, so I can’t pick, and end up just listening to the others.
Still, sometimes I think that things should be a certain way, and say that.
“Then let’s go with this! The layout is settled, but how will we color it? The flag will be set on a point of the castle where it will be most visible, so how big will it be?”
The castle isn’t finished.
Looking around, I can sort of see the whole picture of what it will be like. Imagining that nice drawing fluttering in the wind over the castle is nice.
Will there be lots of other flags in more places like around the town, and lots of streets that don’t exist yet? How many of the country’s symbols will be drawn?
We’re going to finish the castle and build the town. It might be nice to draw this on the ground too. And when we start dealing with other countries, will we explain to them what the name and flag mean? Yes, there will be people whose job it is to guide people around like that.
I want to try doing that, and explain too. Ah, but wouldn’t that be hard for the miko?
“Where do you want it to be drawn, Gaius? I think it’s nice to have the drawing as stuff like ornaments. Like in rooms or the town.”
“True. It doesn’t have to be the whole thing, but like ornaments with part of it. We could do that, I’d want one.”
“Yes. I want lots of individual things too. It could be drawn on the ground in the square too. And in important documents.”
Then it would be immediately obvious that they’re from our country.
Like Gaius says, I want ornaments with parts of the drawing. Like Gaius, Mister Douroean, or the spirits. Those would be nice to decorate a room.
And it might be nice for people to be able to combine them as they want. After all, there are lots of things that aren’t represented on the flag we chose.
“There’s a picture book about me, but if there’s one about how the country came to be, it’d be nice if the flag was on the cover!”
Seeing the flag makes me want to do lots of things.
I don’t think all of it can’t be done, but it’d be nice if the stuff I’m imagining could exist.
As Gaius and I talk about that, the size of the flag that will be displayed is being decided.

(The miko thinks up several things about the flag.)
