My Twin Sister Was Taken as a Miko and I Was Thrown Away but I’m Probably the Miko – Chapter 439 – The completion of the castle – Part eight

It’s going to be a long time before my life or Gaius’ ends. Unless something happens that we don’t expect, we’re going to live for a long time.

Still, it might happen, so we should decide beforehand what to do if it does.

“You’re right, we should make sure people can move on if either of us is gone.”

“Yes. And even if I’m king, if there’s somewhere I want to go and the timing is right, I want to go there. We should make it so the country is okay without us here.”

Becoming king doesn’t mean I’ve given up on living how I want.

To do something, I might have to give up on something else. But still, I think it’s good to be able to do what I want.

Also, I want this country to be a happy place. I don’t think it’s possible to have everyone, but I want lots of people smiling.

I want as few troubled or sad people here as possible.

With that in mind, it feels wrong for the kings to feel unhappy or confined. Gaius and I are both king, so I don’t think we can keep living as we have, but I still want to make sure we can do what we want. That’s just what I feel is right, but still, it’s how I feel.

Not everything we want comes true. Maybe some people might say what I’m thinking is a crazy dream.

“I think that’s good too. When I think of kings, I think of this really strict life, but it’d be better if it wasn’t. If something happens to our friends, I want to fight.”

“And I’ll go out if something happens!!”

“…Wouldn’t it be bad if both kings did?”

“Maybe… But I will if something happens. I think a lot will be solved if the miko goes out. And if we both go out, it will be solved right away. But I think it’d be best if only one of us went out, unless it was really necessary… But then I’d be lonely. I think it’d be good if both of us went out if we need to fight something.”

If something happens, we’ll fight. Even if we’re king, and people say we shouldn’t go to where fighting is happening. I’m sure we’ll want to protect everyone.

I mean, we have the power to fight. There’s no way we won’t.

I’m sure Gaius feels the same way. And I’m sure there’s a lot our position won’t change.

“I agree.”

“Right? And there might be people who don’t agree with us being king. How do we convince them? It’s best to solve things by talking, but…”

“I think people who live here will agree. But as the population goes up… I think there will be people who don’t listen to us.”

“Yes. We’re still young enough to be called kids. There might be people who look down on us. We’re surrounded by nice people, but we’re going to be talking to, and living with lots more people.”

Yes, we have lots of nice people around us, and we’re still kids. And no one will think we’re scary. People might look down on us because of these things.

There are a lot of nice people, but I’m sure not everyone is nice.

If this country is going to keep getting bigger, I’m sure there will be people who don’t like us being king. And we should think about what to do about it.

“I think the best way is to show power. It depends on the race, but we beast people tend to listen to strong people.”

“Power… I guess we can show off lots of things we can do and convince people that way. I want to accept people that want to come here, but we don’t know what different people accept from their king. It would be hard if it was just me, but I think it’s a little easier because they can accept either of us.”

If I was alone, I’d have to convince everyone. That’d be hard.

But with Gaius, there are things one of us can do, even if the other can’t.

(The miko and the beast boy discuss the possibility of not being accepted.)
