Gaius and I talk, and discuss what we want to do with the country.
This is very fun. I’m less worried, and more thinking that fun things have to be in store, as long as I’m with Gaius.
A while after we talk, it’s made known to people that we’ll both be ‘king’.
Some people already knew, but it wasn’t everyone, so… Of course, there are some people who don’t like that.
But it’s not like they don’t like us. If anything, it’s more like they’re worried about us. And some wonder if there isn’t anyone more suitable for the role.
We’re still kids after all. From the point of view of people that have been alive for longer… It makes sense to be worried.
I’m the miko, and Gaius is a knight of the miko.
Even if people know that, some don’t see us that way. Words aren’t enough if they don’t see me or Gaius fight, or using magic.
But we don’t have to, and we don’t like using our powers without a reason. I don’t want people to fear me either, and that might make things worse.
I use magic all the time, and have monsters contracted to me, so what’s normal to me isn’t normal to other people.
“I’ll use magic, so watch.”
But in the end, I feel like I have to show that we really can be king. I’ll show everyone magic. Of course, I’ll make sure it’s not dangerous.
My specialty is wind magic. I don’t want to scare them, but I don’t want to show something weak either. Showing power might change the way they treat me, but I still want to be king with Gaius.
I focus magic energy, and make wind blow. Maybe you could call it a gale.
The spirits are making sure no one’s harmed, so people can see the wind from up close.
I create wings behind me, and fly. People cheer and sound surprised to see me up here. Apparently there are more people here that didn’t know I could do that. I’ve also been told that I shouldn’t tell people too much of what I can do.
But if I’m going to be king, I can’t have people protect me all the time, even if I still have things I can’t tell them.
I’m showing this magic, and the gryphons contracted to me, but that’s about it.
For me, this is normal, and not worth getting surprised. But of course, normal people think what I’m doing is amazing.
We also tell people that Gaius can turn into a wolf, which we hadn’t done before. It was his idea, because he also wants to show how much he wants to be king. We also give people a small explanation about miko’s knights.
Gaius is strong in both forms. I’m not scared of it, because that power isn’t going to be turned my way. He’s strong enough to keep up with adults. He’ll only lose if he’s restricted to using a sword or something like that.
Without restrictions, he’s really strong. Way stronger than he was back when Mister Athos passed away.
And seeing him show off his power really makes me feel that way.
A lot happened to get him here, and it’s proof of how hard he’s been working.
I only get to see his power when he hunts monsters, so others didn’t know about it. A lot look surprised, and seeing them makes me happy.
Will his wolf form get bigger as he gets older?
Then everyone also says that Gaius is great.
Now that we’ve shown our power, we just have to deal with whatever might come… And see what other problems might be besides power one at a time.
