My Twin Sister Was Taken as a Miko and I Was Thrown Away but I’m Probably the Miko – Chapter 443 – Lan’s story – Part two

Making money is only one of the things we have to think about.

It’s important for a country to have its own money, so we have to think about that carefully and make it.

Gaius and I also ask Mister Shuongalve what a king has to watch out for. He says a king can’t take care of everything himself.

There’s a lot a king has to take care of. If you start looking for it, it will never end. And if Gaius and I try to do it all, we won’t do anything else.

We want to work hard for this country, but we don’t want to just be king. I don’t want to give up the things I want to do.

There’s a lot to think about.

“People use things like copper, silver, and gold for money. It will take time to prepare enough for everyone in this country to use. And kings don’t go shopping on their own, they call merchants or something, right? That’s what Mister Shuongalve said.”

“Well, probably. Maybe it would be all right with the people we have now, but… It would be harder to go out shopping with more people around..”

“I see. But that’s kind of lonely… Ah, but what if we’re dressed in a way that people don’t know who we are?”

Apparently others sneak out like that too. Mister Shuongalve and Mister Delaigal did it too. But since people of Rezzed adore Mister Shuongalve, they would always find out.

I know it would be harder to go out shopping with more people here, but I want to go out anyway. I’m sure Miss Lan and the others will allow it. And there shouldn’t be a problem, if I take Freinet and Wea with me.

The issue is that as we get more people, there will be more people who don’t like me or Gaius. Maybe they’ll come after us, so we need to be able to protect ourselves!

Gaius is strong, so I don’t think that will be a problem, but it could be. I’d be really sad if anything happened to him. We’re both king and everything, so I want us to always be friends.

It’s one thing for people to die because their time has come, like grandma, but… I don’t like saying goodbye any other way. That goes for Gaius and the others.

It won’t be so soon, but we have to keep thinking about what things will be like with more people.

“Yes. I want to see the stores we have now.”

“Yes! Right now, people can make stores if we or Miss Lan and the others say they can, but she said we need to set that up properly too. We need people to oversee that.

After that’s settled, there will be more stores we’ve never seen, in new buildings. And if we’re going to be involved with other countries, do we need stuff like inns too?”

We know all of them now, but that won’t be the case forever.

Thinking about the capital of Migha and how many people were there, it would be hard to know about everything there. I guess with the help of the ones contracted to me, I can at least gather more information than normal…

I’m the miko, but the miko can’t do everything. I know that better than anyone else.

I’m involved with a god, but I’m still human.

Thinking about all kinds of stores being built makes me excited. I don’t know what things will be like between us and other countries, but I imagine people from those places will come here too.

Maybe people from Migha too. We’ve told them about the castle in letters, but I’m sure they’ll be surprised to see it.

And this country will keep expanding in this big world… Important people can probably stay in the castle, but other travelers will need an inn.

“The path from Migha to here is pretty dangerous. We’ll need a proper path.”

“Yes… It wasn’t a problem for us, but it would normally be pretty bad.”

People might be coming here from Migha pretty frequently, so we need to make sure they have an easy time getting here. But we need a system in place to accept them, so we really have a lot to think about.

After Gaius and I talk about this, we go looking for Miss Lan, and…

“Is she talking to Mister Nirushi in secret about something?”

“Let’s not talk to her now.”
