Miss Lan and Mister Nirushi becoming a couple has had an effect on everyone.
People of different races having a special relationship like that is rare even in a country with this many races.
Also, Mister Sadda of the Vene company is sad.
…It’s because he likes Miss Lan.
When someone is with someone else, that’s wonderful. Having someone return those feelings is a miracle in a way.
But if that person starts a relationship with someone else, those feelings can’t blossom.
Being in a relationship with someone really is tricky in all sorts of ways.
If I liked someone that way and got in a relationship like that, would someone be sad? Love really is complicated. I don’t want to make people sad, but… There’s really no point in thinking about that. It would only matter if someone liked me.
Stuff like this has been on my mind a lot lately.
Apparently other people have been influenced by Miss Lan and Mister Nirushi, and more couples are popping up. But at the same time, there have been break ups.
I have this image in my mind that when people like each other, they stay that way forever. Stories I hear about love always end with them living happily ever after.
But that’s not a sure thing.
People like someone, decide that’s not right, and then start a relationship with someone else.
This repeats like it’s no big deal. I hope Miss Lan and Mister Nirushi always stay together, but that’s just what I selfishly want.
More kids are being born into this country, slowly but surely. Miss Lan says that means it’s stable enough for people to have children. Apparently people have more children in more dangerous places, but that also leads to children dying.
I don’t want to think about something that sad. I want to make a place where kids can live without a problem.
I’m not an adult yet, but I think kids smaller than me should live in peace.
I love this place, so it’s very rare for monsters to wander in here. Normally it would be really hard to live this deep in the forest, and monsters would attack. But since the miko is here, we can live in peace.
But even if people’s lives are safe, we need to work hard to make this a place where people can smile.
The miko’s power isn’t infallible, and I know not everything goes the way I want.
That’s why I’m always thinking about what I can do.

I ask, because she’s a spirit that knows all sorts of stuff.
She formed a contract with a miko in the past, and saw a big country that existed a long time ago.
I visit those ruins sometimes, and I’ve been making progress with the magic energy vortexes. It’s an important place for Wea, so I want to preserve it instead of destroying it.
I’ve heard that people of other countries definitely don’t know about that country. It existed a long time ago, and turned into a place where living beings can’t exist. Almost no one knows anything about it.
Information that other countries don’t know is important. Wea says that recording history is important too, and Miss Lan has been taking the lead in doing it.
“I see. We could make more playgrounds, and schools.”
“Schools? Miss Lan said the same thing. That we should make big places like those.”
“Yes. This country just started, but it’s not clear what children will do when they’re adults, right? It’s important for schools to guide them into their occupations. And… If there are more people and more types of people, some won’t be good to children.”
“Won’t be good to children?”
“Remember how your parents abandoned you? Abandoning, treating poorly… There will be people who do that.”
This country is still mostly people we know, so we always know when something happens.
But Wea is right. If there are lots of people, there might be kids like that, and we won’t notice.
