Red panda. Also known as a small panda in Chinese.
I heard they were the ones who first called it a panda. But when the big panda entered the scene, they were called giant pandas, and these ones were called small. What a tragic animal. Not that they care.
Nowadays they are famous for being small, and the adorable pose they strike when trying to be threatening. I also think they are cute. Yes, unless they are about twice as big as giant pandas.
I’m pretty sure it’s about two and a half meters. It looks like a red panda, but clearly isn’t. It’s very clear it’s on another level entirely.
I can see with my glasses device that it’s devouring magic energy crystals. I can’t harvest like this. It probably obliterated mana jewels I never got to find.
If that is the case, there is no point in me being here. Running away is an option. The old man who thought this was his spot and he would not be letting go of it is dead. Only the old man who values his life remains.
Being near that monstrosity is too scary. I should report this to the association, and find another place to make money.

I jump out the pipe and prepare to fight. I vocalize the command to make it clearer, and nine gates appear.

With a dull sound, the giant red panda hits a gate and is flung back. My gates are definitely sturdy, but apparently they can stop a giant red panda’s tackle. Well, more than just stop.
“Cancel everything!”

It falls with a cute groan, but this is a cruel fight. I fired everything, rock shotgun, air, and water. I get close and stab it with my spear, after slowing it down with Time Delay… Well, I say stab, but it’s like I stuck a blade into a tire, and it didn’t go all the way in.
Looking at it more closely, it doesn’t look like the rock shotgun and air bullets did much damage either. The rock cannons worked, but the damage was far from lethal.
In any case, it’s still moving slowly due to Time Delay, and I take the opportunity to reconstruct my Storage spaces… But only eight. The effect of Time Delay runs out before I reconstruct the gate that caused it. The giant red panda is moving normally again.
