After leaving the Saitama branch of the Seeker Association, I head to the Yoshikawa Gate again.
I don’t intend to explore today, but I couldn’t help myself after hearing I can summon a beast.
According to Miss Sawaki, people might try to kill me to get the summon beast for themselves.
Apparently summon beasts can’t change masters while the old master is alive, so that makes sense. On the other hand, that shows just how rare they are, which excites me.
But if people might come after my life, I need to be strong enough to deal with it. In the dungeon, it’s survival of the fittest, just like it is outside of it. And that is why I want a summon beast…
No, it really isn’t like I’m driven by need. I will summon the giant red panda, and make it my friend. That is all the motive I need, right?
And so, I’ve come to an open area of the dungeon that’s rarely visited by people. If things go wrong and I have to fight it again, this is the place to do it.
Also, to summon it, I just have to face the back of my right hand and call out the name I’m giving it. Simple. And the name is…
“Lucky!”
I’ve been up and down recently, so I named it Lucky, in a sense of driving my luck up. And the red panda crest shines in response to my call.
“Your name is Lucky. Come forth, Lucky! Come on!”
I’m feeling a strong connection to a being I think is Lucky. This is exciting. Then a magic circle appears in front of me, and gathers magic energy from around it in the form of particles of light.
“Kyuru!”
Its howl echoes in the cave.
The light coming from the magic circle compresses into matter, and Lucky the giant red panda appears. Hou, so this is a summoning.
The giant red panda is two meters tall. Big enough that I have to look up at it, but smaller than when I first encountered it.
“Kyuru?”
I tilt my head a little, and it tilts its head while looking at me. Cute. Hm, I feel like its thoughts are flowing into my head.
“Ah, sorry Lucky. I was just thinking that you’re smaller than last time, and the aura around you is different…”
“Kyuru…”
It nods.
It can’t talk, but it can understand me. And I feel its thoughts flowing into me.
“Kyuru, kyururu!”
Houhou. I see. Lucky’s thoughts are carried in its noises, so I can understand them. I’m guessing this is part of being a summon beast. Useful.
“I see. The strength of the summon beast depends on its master’s. So if I don’t level up, you won’t become as strong as before.”
Lucky nods. I see, Lucky’s pretty smart.

The appearance of the red devil clearly sparks curiosity in the man.
Female screams will echo through the dark underground caves, scaring Zenjurou of his deed.
And upon returning to the surface, what will the red devil think? What will it do?
