Storage old man 【Asura】. Changing jobs and following his dream of a seeker life. Conquering dungeons at light speed with his Storage skill the size of a plastic bottle – Chapter 7 – Minced kobold – Part seven

The sound that signaled I leveled up came from my seeker device.

It’s exactly what it sounds like. Like in a game, seekers level up when they gain enough experience by taking down magic beasts.

I heard that at first, they called it resource absorption, raising rank… But it was easier to understand when put in game terms, so people call it leveling up through experience. It’s important to make things clear like that.

By the way, what we call experience is a mysterious energy that comes out of magic beasts when they are killed. This energy is sucked into what is called an extend plate, that’s embedded in the back of the neck during awakening surgery.

This plate is what makes a seeker a seeker. It’s a man-made magic energy control organ created referencing technology from the other world.

The plate gives seekers their superhuman strength. An all F like me won’t change much with each level up in terms of stats, but I wonder how my skill changes.

Leaving aside that I’m a rank F, the entrance is still eight centimeters in diameter, and I can still only store half a litter inside it. Storage has a small appraisal feature that tells me what is inside the Storage space, but this is a basic function of storage, so I can’t see how it leveled up in any way.

So what exactly grew?

Hey, hey.

How’s that? After my level up, I can now create two Storage Gates, meaning two Storage spaces.

The capacity is the same, but I can fight with numbers. The Storage skill was a dud, but I think having two cannons is a wonderful addition to my fighting power.

“Aooooon.”

As I immerse myself in the emotions of my level up, I hear a howling coming from further in. I think the noise of my rock shotgun drew them to me.

I remain cautious, and see three kobolds approaching. Are they friends of the one I minced?

“Grrr.”

Kobolds are said to be newbie killers, so they are infamous in a way.

They are not that strong, but the fact that they are humanoid means some new seekers are traumatized after killing them. And there are still many who retire after that.

“Grr.”

“Uon.”

“Fuhfuh.”

They’ve designated me their prey, and keep walking towards me, but then stop. Ah, they spotted the remains of their friend, and must be wary.

Kobolds are said to be weak enough that a regular person can defeat them, but I’m still confident I would lose a one on one fight. I can’t overstate how weak I am, after thirty-five peaceful years.

But I didn’t come here without a plan. I was convinced I could deal with them with air bullets, but now I have a more effective way of dispatching them.

As they watch me, I silently pack my Storage space with pebbles, and I wait for them to come to me…

“Aoooohn.”

And when they get close, I shoot them with my shotgun.

See? Easy…

Plap, splash, plap.

Bleh-urrgh!!
