The frontier alchemist ~ I can’t go back to that job after you made my budget zero – Chapter 111 – Let’s teach a technique!!

“Ah, extracting magic elements…”

Shellrule was full of energy until a second ago, but now she’s suddenly deflating.

After sending Koto to the Kagero Institute, I start gathering the remaining Potion Rabbits while hearing Halhammer respond to Shellrule mockingly.

“What? Does Lady Shellrule not like extracting magic elements?”

“No, I understand that it’s an important job. But it’s so plain, and it takes so long. You stick a pipe magic item in the ground and just let the magic elements flow. Nothing changes! And it takes all day! And then the next day you do the same thing just a little to the side! It’s almost depressing…”

Says Shellrule while vigorously shaking her body and waving her hands. I listen to their back and forth as I put the last remaining Potion Rabbits back in the barrel. I guess there’s a side of her that’s like that.

Well, that’s how it goes if you do it with the common method. But if they really don’t want to do it, I guess I could just have them help with the preparations and do it quickly by myself.

“Ah, Shellrule? If you have a problem…”

“I’ll do it! I love extracting magic elements!”

Her expression changes completely as she turns to me. For some reason she’s full of motivation.

“Eh? Ah, yes, thanks…”

Uh? Where did all this eagerness come from? Oh well, if that’s the case…

◇◆

“《Activate》. 《Begin》 Magic element diversion.”

The scroll that controls the bulbs opens itself, and a magic circle appears above it. And then, as if responding to it, magic circles appear above the bulbs buried around this area.

The magic circles start rotating, and magic elements are sprinkled into the atmosphere through the pipes coming out of the bulbs.

They’re being expelled with more force than usual, probably because my potions have a high concentration of magic elements.

A murmur starts spreading among the alchemists, beginning with Shellrule.

“So many!”

“Eh, he’s covering that wide of an area by himself?”

“Wow! It’s so much more than normal magic items.”

Looks like the whole Kagero Institute is fascinated by the bulbs I use to extract magic elements.

I might as well take the opportunity to teach them how to do it, so I have them help plant the bulbs. Well, having that said, Hipopo and its brothers did most of the digging.

But still, a hands on approach is the fastest way to learn.

“Well then everyone, take your places. Try activating the scroll I gave you to control the bulbs.”

I tell the still very excited alchemists.

Of course, the first one to jump forward is Shellrule.

“Rust, I’ll take over here.”

Says Halhammer as he takes over a scroll I activated while maintaining its function.

That’s impressive, Master Halhammer. Everything from the tuning of the magic elements, to the overwriting, to the control is perfect. Now I can focus on giving them advice.

“Thank you Master Halhammer. Let’s go around a bit.”

I thank Halhammer and walk around to check out how everyone’s magic element extraction is going.
