“Kill all, except the man! You all, go!”
Someone says, and the mushroom people that were just standing and staring at nothing frantically start to move.
They raise the plates they’re holding and come towards us.
I look around to see who gave the order. It looks like it was that bearded giant.
“Don’t kill that man! That’s Master Rihalzam’s prey!”
What do you mean prey? I don’t think these three will lose, but the enemy certainly poses a threat based on numbers alone. We should deal with them in one go.
We’ve taken position near the entrance, but obviously there are mushroom people carrying plates coming from the passage too.
“Leave the slimy gums to me! Roa, take care of Rust.”
I guess that’s what Taula is calling those enemies that are only teeth.
I’m impressed. It looks like she learned from the fight with Deden and the other two.
Slimy gums attack us from the front, but Ahri and Taula easily take care of them. They have humanoid shape, but they only attack with the teeth, meaning they attack with their weak point and leave it completely exposed. They have no chance against these two.
Meanwhile, Roa runs to me while thrusting with her spear.
The spear passes above my head, and I hear the sound of porcelain breaking.
She broke a plate that was about to hit me.
Thankfully, this particular mushroom person had already offered the contents of that plate into Rihalzam.
Roa then quickly pierces the mushroom growing out of this person, purifying it.
The mushroom people around us are all purified by this spear coated with potion, and liberated from those parasites.
“Thank you Roa!”
“Yes.”
I reach into my backpack and take out a pot while thanking her. It’s a magic item that I didn’t finish making fast enough to be used last time.
This pot has had its storage capacity expanded. It’s been expanded to the same extent as my dear backpack.
Of course, there is potion inside. There’s not enough to purify every mushroom person in the capital, but there’s easily enough to take care of the ones here.
I take out one of the potion rabbit magic stones in my pocket, and put it in the pot.
It starts bubbling, and Potion Rabbits’ faces pop out near the rim.
They put their frontal legs in the rim to pull themselves up, and run past me.
They keep popping out until the floor is filled with them, and they throw themselves at the mushroom people one after the other to purify them.
“Ah, it doesn’t look like it works as well with those.”
A few Potion Rabbits stick to the slimy gums, but it doesn’t look like they have much effect on the slimy bodies themselves. The slimy gums don’t even flinch. In fact, they grab the Potion Rabbits and rip them apart.
With a splashing sound, those Potion Rabbits revert to being simple potions.
Unless I get lucky and they manage to hit their weak point, I don’t think I can deal with the slimy gums using Potion Rabbits.
I see most of the mushroom people have been purified, and take the magic stone out of the pot.
I face forward to see how it’s going over there, and see a different part of Rihalzam’s body separate itself and come to attack.
