Preparations for the development of the town have been advancing steadily thanks to the work of the advance party.
Since we have the monster repellent magic barrier, we can afford to leave defensive facilities against monsters for later, and focus on building things related to our living environment.
Normally, when you’re developing a remote region, investigating and dealing with monsters that live in the region is an essential part. I’m sure the camp that preceded Habbafulton had a lot of money and manpower invested into it to deal with monsters.
But what sticks out to me is how great Shellrule’s efforts have been.
According to Master Halhammer, Koto is more suited for organizational management, and Shellrule has a lot of talent as an alchemist, and watching her work with the advance party is really making me realize just how correct that assessment is.
Shellrule still has some rough edges, but she seems like the type to draw admiration and make people want to follow her.
Right now, she’s in the main office, having fun chatting with people all around her.
Quite a few female members of the Kagero Institute have joined the advance party, and have proposed a few helpful ideas to increase efficiency
I can see them as I prepare documents to be approved by Kalin, but I can’t hear them.
It looks like they’ve come to an agreement on something, and Shellrule walks my way. I stop writing on a parchment and listen to her.
“Master Rust, do you have a moment? I would like to talk about going to this area and starting construction of plumbing…”
I listen as I read a document she handed me.
“I see… But Shellrule, the original plan is for the pioneering unit to lay down the waterworks according to a single standard.”
“Yes, that is the standard way, but I was thinking we could use Eve’s bamboo pipes. We could lay them through here and…”
She says while pointing to a map.
“Interesting. That would make it easy to remove them too, and greatly reduce the work it takes to obtain water. If we take out the nodes, we can extend Eve’s bamboo pipes over this area.”
I do some simple calculations with Eve’s remaining power in mind.
“Thank you. The water provided by your specially made paralyzing cloud water supply is enough for the people here now, but…”
“The current water supply would bottleneck during the development of the land, and before the standard waterworks were completed.”
I say while looking through the second document.
“Yes. This should be easy to install with the monster repelling barrier working at full power, and it wouldn’t cost much to remove.”
“All right, you can start working on it. I think it’s a terrific idea.”
“…! Thank you very much. But all my proposals are because we have an alchemist like you. I will start the preliminary arrangements right away.”
Says Shellrule as her face turns red and she leaves the main office.
I have to remember that I have to prepare more documents to ask for Kalin’s approval.
“I have to send these documents via the communication device, and then I have to go wake up Eve for a bit… I guess we’ll have to leave the dungeon for tomorrow.”
I whisper while continuing to write the approval document I was writing before.
