Seilook’s landing is a little rough, as it took the opportunity to trample a variant species of a wolf monster.
Seilook’s body sinks in as it lands, and Roa and Taula take that opportunity to jump down.
They immediately turn to the monsters roaming around to swing a sword and thrust a spear at them.
It doesn’t take long for the ground to be stained with black blood.
Should I collect some of it just in case?
I put on my purified harvesting gloves, an item that’s become one of my favorites recently.
I carefully come down with the help of Seilook’s tail. It’s kind of tricky because Seilook is also fighting the variant species coming at us.
When I touch down on the ground, I breathe a sigh of relief for just a second, before I take out empty bottles, long glass tubes, and a few small scrolls from my backpack.
Something like researcher’s intuition is telling me to collect both the black blood flowing on the ground, and the blood from monsters’ corpses. I get the feeling it will be interesting to compare them later.
I take a glass tube I was holding with my mouth, carefully scoop up liquid, and pour it into a bottle.
But then, wind carrying the stench of blood blows from behind me. It looks like Taula took down a monster that was coming near me.
I have to hurry.
I take small 《Seal》 scrolls and wrap them around corked bottles, and stick them in spaces I left empty on my potion holder.
Next is the dirt.
I pick up both dirt stained with black blood and dirt without any blood with the tip of my knife, and put it into bottles.
These are then sealed too.
I actually wanted dirt from where that thing didn’t pass, but this will have to do.
The area where it passed is just too wide.
I make my decisions as I watch the giant black being that’s still moving from afar.
I turn around to go harvest something else, and see a variant species of monster in front of me. It looks like a bat.
It opens its mouth at me, and the next moment the tip of a spear comes out of it.
It’s Roa’s.
“Excuse me.”
“No, thank you.”
We say to each other before going back to work.
I’m in a hurry, so I’ll use the samples of the soil to measure the density of magic elements later. I’m done with this, so now I have to measure the distance.
I call out to Taula, Roa, and Seilook, who eliminated all the monsters around us in this short amount of time.
“I’m done harvesting, so now I want to measure the distance. Follow me.”
“Hurry up. That’s too much.”
Roa says while pointing with her spear, and I see a big group of monsters coming towards us.
